    The Brinker collection

That's pretty wild. How much fabrication was needed to make that mating successful?

    Unhappy Dogbone thingy

Cool. I'll do some research to see if I can do this more efficiently at my end. If not, I'll be in touch.

    Unhappy Dogbone thingy

Your inbox is full. Here's the gist of my message: Ok, I've read your thread. Nice work. I am not comfortable cutting or modifying tools because I worry that I'll weaken them to a failure point, but I trust your wrench because it has been tested multiple times. When the time comes (this...

    The Brinker collection

The Mighty Mite and MUTT are really interesting, as is the recoil-less rifle.

    Steering Wheel Install

Grrrrrr!! I spent 2 hours fighting that stupid steering wheel until I found this thread. Thank goodness for the forum. No mention made of propping up the steering shaft in the TM. It's all in "how" you ask the question. I'd read dozens of threads on removal but none of them mentioned any...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I am new to the world of commercial truck tires with tubes. Is it safe to re-use a tube when replacing a worn tire? (Assuming that the tire was simply worn and not damaged in any way.) I am leery of buying Chinese junk for a high safety item like tires/tubes. Is there a known, good source for...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I live in a 50-year old home with a wood floor with joists at the maximum distance apart allowed by code. I'm not sure I'd want to point load the floor with that much weight. ;) Besides, I'm a sailor first so the house is decorated more like a ship or a lighthouse with sextants, oil lamps etc...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Given what they cost, I'm going to get a quote from a commercial truck transmission shop for a rebuild and keep it as a spare.

Just bombin' along Rte 214 in Maryland. Feeling better about the truck.

    Truck uncontrollable after bump.

I thought your problem was interesting. Even brand-new civilian Jeeps have reported the "death wobble." Reference: https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a28700728/jeep-death-wobble-fix-jl-wrangler/ https://www.extremeterrain.com/wrangler-jeep-death-wobble.html It mainly has to do with solid...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Been cleaning up the garage, getting rid of old oil, batteries etc. I poured the nasty gear oil from my dead transfer case into a disposal container and saw some solid chunks of metal had settled to the bottom. For fun, here's a quick video where I can shake the rear output. 00:08 through...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Hm...you can polish those lenses but if they're sun faded, there's no help for that. I bought my truck last December so it was too cold to play with water to de-grease the engine and running gear. I was told to blast everything clean and then observe over time and see what's leaking. Yesterday...

    Introducing the Soldier B HubHelper!!

Dang it, you're as bad as Apple! As soon as I buy a product, it's replaced with a better version just a few months later! LOL. :burn::lol:

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I found that the parking brake needed more adjustment, so took care of that. Wiper motor air hoses are rotten so I'll scare up some replacements tomorrow. I took another 30 minute drive with plenty of shifting, some shallow hills and plenty of stops/starts at stop signs. The truck behaved...

MATV made it home to NH

I saw his Youtube review of this vehicle. I thought to myself "There's no way that thing is being delivered to someone's private residence." I hope you never have to deploy it in anger.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Successful test drive around town this morning. I'll call it officially "fixed." Looking forward to resuming deferred routine maintenance... and rolling into the local Ace to buy a few tons of fuel for my pellet stove.
