I was wondering if there has been tests done that show this kit lowers the temperatures in the rear of the block with a laser temperature gun pre install and post install?
If you go to an electric lift pump I recommend taking out the old mechanical pump and put a plate that covers where the old pump was. Make sure you take out the rod. Picture below. O’Reilly auto parts sells them.
The mechanical pump will make thumping noises if still connected to the block...
When my resisters went bad I changed the glow plugs that had literally melted inside the heads. The fried resister was only doing 6.5 v out of itself and 6.5v to each new glow plug.
That is why I like the G60s. No matter what I gave them for voltage, they stay at a 10.5v each plug. If a plug...
I love it! It was worth every penny because I don’t have to worry about the dash cracking and hearing all those weird cab noises from the old dash popping and rattling from the expanding, contracting and body flex.
It gave me room for all the gauges and switches. Plus the cool factor! I am...
I highly recommend replacing all the 6.5 gaskets, add Arp studs, new lifters, girdle and Fluidampr before putting the 6.5 in.
I call it a bomb proof refresher. At least you can add a bigger turbo down the road if you wanted to and know your motor can handle it.
Even the 599 blocks can crack...

I said resist.
For educational reasons, would you be willing to make a video while testing your resister without load and under load and share with us?
I was thinking about putting a 1996 6.5 diesel in my M1009 and was thinking about the starter.
I know the 6.5 has a 12v starter and the M1009 has a 24v starter.
The reason why I want to stay with the 24v starting system is because I have a Warn custom made $2800 24v 12k winch.
Will the 24v...
Many years ago when my resisters fried, I went searching for a new set. I could not find any. At that time, they did not make them anymore. I did not want to take any chances with buying a used set. Hence the bypass.
I agree keeping it all stock is more beneficial.
You just explained what I...
I never ran the 13G glow plugs. I am not sure what the voltage is per plug. I would assume around 12.5-11.5 drop.
To my knowledge, the resister basically resists/converts the 24volt to 12 volt. So test each end of the resister. One side should be 24 volt and the other about 12volt. Depends if...
I did this twice! Fried the batteries, fried the glow plugs and fried the glow plug resister on firewall. After replacing the batteries and glow plugs, it took twice as long to heat up the GP because the resisters were fried. Took 1 year to finally realize that the resisters were shot too. I...
