I did a bit over 1100 miles one way in two days, rested for a couple of days, then did it again. By myself. And I always make the Georgia rally in one shot, which is just shy of 800 miles, if there are no detours.
Since I'm on our rural fire department, and the chief knows me, my truck and I just got drafted for high water rescue... and of course, I have one bad knuckle boot. I'm on standby right now so hopefully nobody will be stupid and drive into the high water areas and need extrication... that would...
Ok, so it isn't an axle seal either. The inside diameter is too small. I just found a new seal and retainer hiding in a box to compare it to. Maybe I bought one for something else a while back, and I just recognize the number. Sometimes I swear I'm losing my mind.
Hadn't thought about the 103. Reason I was thinking about the 105 is because they can be had here for free without title. Then, once I cut and splice and lengthen it I could get a home made trailer title. The 1061 I'm getting from you, Mr. Wheelspinner, would work with your idea, if the wheels...
It isn't a pinion seal for the deuce. Way too small for that in a couple of its dimensions. What bothers me is that I know this is for the deuce... it almost has to be an axle shaft seal, but the inner diameter seems small for that.
And as fast as my truck will run now it would probably be real bad. I honestly believe they were only meant to transport shelters around maneuver areas and storage fields at low speed.
That's only a couple hundred pounds lighter than the 1061. Negligible improvement at best. I may just have to build something after all. Am I the only one that doesn't trust the shelter dolly for highway use?
I want to stay away from the shelter dolly. I don't trust them after the threads about them breaking just being moved around in a yard. A bolster trailer might be better. What do they weigh?
I have a stack of skf 15207 seals, and I know I've bought them for my deuce before but I can't for the life of me remember where they go on the truck, unless they might possibly be inner front axle shaft seals. I did search that and came up with nothing. I know it isn't for the winch, already...
I'm in a sort of conundrum about a permanent use trailer for hauling my S280 that I'm converting into a camper. I have an M1061 trailer that I recovered it with, but the issue I have is that it is way heavier than it needs to be for the application. The trailer alone weighs a bit over 5000...
What a shame what happened to these two good men. I sure hope ATF doesn't go after everyone that has things like this now just because of one tragic incident.
Well those are what I will buy next time I have to buy boots. I grow weary of changing boots every few months. The longest lasting one I've had only lasted about 9 months, and it was a late manufacture Newstar. As you know, time and dry rot don't get mine, its use that gets them, and my truck...
