    Solenoid M35A3

i have repaired hundreds of starters by using phosfer bronze silver solder sticks to build up the burned away disk and also the contacts. just grind it back close to the proper size and shape after building it up. lasts longer than new. tom

    Yesterdays deuce issues questions

jumping out of 3rd requires the 2-3 hub and or syncro assy and or 3rd gear dogs to be in really bad shape. there are however some new 2-3 hubs out there that are NOS and the recess in the center that holds the syncro in gear is barely there. (that is why i say that surplus is surplus for a...

what is this and how do i make it stop leakin

it is the fuel delivery check valve and if it leaks when properly torqued, or starts leaking again after you fix it, you have an injector that will not take the flow of fuel. it is a very important part of the ip but should never require servicing. see the ip manual for specs. tom

    easy hydro-assisted powersteering option?

really expensive, just do the replacement box. even if you have someone fab it all for you it will still be cheaper. what would you pay for a complete bolt on hyd steering kit? most all the parts for a replacement box are right in a salvage yard. tom

    fuller ten speed

i have to ask why would you want to do this swap? what are you after in the end? tom

Putting larger tires on the deuce using stock rims...

big tires will hurt the off road performance, increase the braking distance and cost more than the OD gear set available. are you just doing this because you think it looks cool? tom

    Fuel sticker violation in NC

ok, sorry to disagree, but most of the opinions here are wrong. IFTA is federal and applies to everyone with 3 axles regardless of weight unless it is an RV. a deuce is most certainly not an RV and this has been tested in court. in PA you likely will get a ticket with a big fine. this has also...

Converting M35A2 non turbo into Turbo?

do not forget to at least check the fuel rate as it will probably be way off and you do not want it too high. tom

    ***Inner M35A2 wheel seal problem***

my guess is that without the backing plate and brake drum to fit togeather and block almost all of the 'mud', that it won't take much to just push past the seal. tom

    My gauges make me rich

unfortunately, there are people who are stupid. what else would you call it? only a few years ago you could buy the complete dash panel with all gauges for $110 tom

Look at the 13 hp Diesel engines I picked up today

they are 3000 rpm engines, but that does not mean you have to run them at that. see the spec sheet http://www.farymann.com/pdf/Farymann_43_F.pdf tom

    Detroit Lockers

of course this is an old thread, but tires are now not the only way to make your truck more highway friendly. tom

    Ouverson engineering 4.90 gear set

i am curious why you would consider spending twice as much on this as the od kit costs? plus all the extra work and the truck will be severly limited in off road capabilities. tom

    Rockwell axle ratios

that's why all my trucks are upgraded to dual circuit and also full air over hydraulic. approx 5 lbs of pedal pressure will lock the brakes. tom

    Rockwell axle ratios

as far as i'm concerned, there is nothing wrong with some simple upgrades to bring a deuce into the 21 century, i.e brakes, steering etc. deuces with good brakes do not lack stopping power. mine will stop just as good as most cars from 67 mph. with radial tires it will make them sing easily...

    Rockwell axle ratios

but that would be in 4th gear, not 5th. stock 5th would then be final ratio of 3.82, while my od gears give 4.63 final ratio which is all the multifuel will do. how much do 4 tires and wheels cost? compared with $1334 i think my way may be cheaper. tom

the exact correct gaskets for the fuel filters on mep-0003 are available. i researched this since the replacements many other filter companies say fit DO NOT FIT. fram part number SP101489 can be special ordered from tractor supply or walmart. (free shipping at walmart) tom
