    MEP-803a possible battery short

I see you have an Arctic heater on your machine... nice option to have up in your area! Back to your battery drain issue.... If you verify that you have a substantial battery drain try removing the + 24V output wire from the back of your alternator. What you described smells an awful lot like a...

    Mep 803a quick questions.

Since you voltage gage is working, that means the gen is producing power. Therefore, as LITD mentioned your HZ gage ( assuming you have the throttle up high enough to be above 55HZ ) issue must be a bad connection, a faulty gage or possibly a bad frequency transducer. I would start by getting a...

    Mep-803a high idle

The other reason it may feel sticky when loose in your hand is that the plunger is fully extended and the spring is causing the plunger to "Bottom out" in the body. Once installed the tip of the metering pump touches the cam follower and slightly compresses the spring and plunger, eliminating...

Mep-806A coolant temperature sender source needed

So I went to purchase the Sierra TS26631 and the particular ad I was looking at said it is comparable to the Beede F90404 from LITD's attachment above. For the sake of an extra $4 I went with the Beede, seeing that the gage is from Beede, why not keep it all in the family! I will let you know...

I know right! That's exactly what I needed Zed.

Mep-806A coolant temperature sender source needed

Great info guys. LITD, It's funny you mention Sierra, when I was searching by PN several listings for the Sierra Marine senders came up and I wondered if it might work. For $18 I might as well give it a shot, I also have a 240V temp gage on the shelf that was in an 803 I bought years ago. It was...

Mep-806A coolant temperature sender source needed

Hello, I'm working on an 806A for someone and the coolant temp sender in the corner of the head is broken. ( somehow the wire and center pin have come out of the casing and were dangling behind the head ) Looked in the TM and it gives a PN of: Beede 127341 , 5905-01-376-0985 , 88-21742...

    Mep-806A temperature sender source needed

Hey guys, I'm working on an 806A for a guy and the temp gage sender in the back corner of the head is broken ( physically broken! ) Looked in the TM and on line and it looks like I need: Beede 127341 , 5905-01-376-0985 , 88-21742 After a little internet searching I really did not come up with...

    Mep-005a

The check ball is in the Tee fitting right at the top cover of the Injection pump. Sounds like the glass ball in there is stuck, causing the internal pump cavity pressure to rise and kill the pump's internal fuel transfer process. Take the tee fitting off and the check ball is in the lower...

    MEP-803A voltage quit

If you find an issue with the exciter stator I think I have a couple spares. if the problem ends up being in the rotor I will have to look, not sure if I have any to spare.

    Looking for interrupt switch

Yes... Love tap is the optimal wording.... and notice that I also stated that if the love taps work, then take it apart to see what is causing it to hang up, so it can be fixed properly.

    MEP-803A voltage quit

Kurt is correct, it's just a connection point that allows you to separate the connections to remove the end of the generator and the field stator. I would just clean as best you can, maybe pinch the female end closed a little more for a tighter fit and check continuity.

    Looking for interrupt switch

This may sound like a odd solution but, it sounds like your K1 is hanging up internally. If you have already measured things per the TM using a meter, that means you have the top cover off and K1 exposed. Go in there and tap sharply on K1 with a rubber mallet or something a few times, than fire...

    Mep 806A

Ha, funny you say that Guy... I was poking around in the Classified section last night and saw Kurt's VR and found that it doesn't utilize the transformer ( which I believe is my problem ) so I already ordered one of his VR's this morning! Should prove to be a much more cost effective and bullet...

    Mep 806A

Correct, what I was wondering is if I have a TRC transformer can I replace it with another TRC transformer ( if I can find one ) or is there any reason why I would need to replace all 3 parts if only one part is bad ? I'm assuming I can replace just a single bad component with another from the...

    Mep 806A

Looks like I may have an 806A with a similar issue. When starting it I get some voltage as long as I hold the switch, but it only gets to about 90V and power goes away as soon as I let go of the switch and the Low voltage fault indicator is illuminated. While holding the S1 , the voltage adjust...

Another way to lower an M1101/M1102

I'm sure you guys have seen this option already but I have used the electric over hydraulic conversion pumps to convert a couple of the larger air over hydraulic trailers with excellent success. Cost starts at about $1000 , so not cheap, but might be another option for anyone worried about long...

    MEP-002a service near Knoxville, TN

I agree with Chainbreaker 100% , this is sounding more and more like a loose-loose for you with the current deal structure. You should stick to the 2 options CB laid out, otherwise walk away for it! Another option is that there are several guys on this forum including myself, that offer good...
