Fuel these days isn't what it used to be! What used to take years to gum up now only takes a matter of months in some instances, without the proper additives!
The fuel injector nozzle kits are available on ebay. Search for 147-0268
As for the pump kit, before buying make sure you are getting all the parts you need.
Their "Rebuild Kit" # 85236 does not include everything you typically need, only the gaskets. It does not include a plunger guide if...
I don't think the OP was clear or might not even know what exactly the neighbor did to remove the solenoid plunger, but much like M32825 I have also seen these gens where the knob has vibrated loose from the shutoff lever, allowing the solenoid's plunger, spring and the linkage to fly out and...
Sounds like your injection pump ( what you referred to as a lift pump ) is not working properly.
First off, is the electric shut off solenoid on the linkage below the injection pump pulling back when you crank the engine, and does the linkage move freely when the solenoid engages?
If it has been...
Welcome to he site, you will find a lot of great help here. Unfortunately a spare running DN4M will be somewhat scarce, might be easier to locate a cheap MEP-813 ( 400 hz. generator ) and take the motor out of that, since it is identical.
Also, you should correct the title of your thread to 803...
Mike, I want to double check that you are now fully understanding the function of the day tank as Guy described.
It is a gravity feed system from the day tank to the IP. You should not be looking for any significant pressure in the line to the pump as you had mentioned 6-7 PSI earlier. All you...
I'm here... just reading along in the background! I agree with everything the other guys... and Guy have said. First get it running THEN worry about fixing the electrical issues and making it pretty.
For that $500 radiator hose, you can use a $20 universal courrogated hose available at any...
Fantastic! Unfortunately I learned the hard way.... checked the fuse AFTER the new voltage regulator didn't fix it!
But on the up side.... now it already has one of KKlop's redesigned VR's in it!
Agreed... that is definitely your fuel drain bung ( well nut )
As stated above either get the "Ultimate Well Nut" as described in this forum or replace it with a REAL Viton or Mil-spec. well nut.
Don't get the cheaper Chloroprene 3/8-16 well nut from Hillman or Pop Fasteners, you will be doing...
Well, start with the basics... as I learned the hard way...
If your machine has the quad fuse mod to the left of the voltage regulator, check the fuse first!
If the fuse is blown it will act exactly as you describe.
Also realize that you have 12 wires plus the 2 field wires coming out of the gen head currently.
You need to accurately connect the appropriate wires together that Craig's drawing shows as internal connections ( T1 through T12 )
Also, I believe CT1 and CT2 are aftermarket transformers, not the...
Fantastic job Ray. Glad to see you took the time to research your issue, gather the necessary data, find parts, repair your pump and get your gen running all on your own.
Nice to see you were able to successfully utilize all the info already posted over the years!
Good call, don't use your house as a load bank when working on the machine, bad things can happen.
It is very hard to accurately diagnose things from an audio clip, but it does sound like the engine is fluttering somewhat, and possibly another odd noise, but sound can be deceiving when listening...
Just for the hell of it, also check for reversed wires on the gage.... wouldn't be the first one!
While in there, you can use your meter to check the signal coming from the transducer.
Consult the TM's on how to test.
I have also found 1 or 2 meters in the past that had a mfg. defect internally...
Anything is better than nothing and there is no "Too Much" as far as lubricant, but I typically use about a pint per tank full, so 1-2 oz per gallon I suppose?
In the video's it appears to be running OK at no load.
Do you have a video of it as it starts to die out under load?
I have experienced several 1074 fuel pump issues lately where the machine will run fine for a while but above 50% load the machine will run a little while then slowly die down...
Yup, Guy is most likely correct. I know because I have a pile of PSU parts ( everything except good plungers ) from all the broken pumps I have run into.
As a result of the catastrophic plunger breakage, Ambac redesigned the pump to use the Plunger guide as the sacrificial "Shear Pin", thus...
