Since I have a pair of those copper washers left over that dops in before the injectors, I'm going to pull the injectors on the spare unit in the morning, just to make sure they go with that unit. If the spare set DOES have those copper washers, then I forgot to install them on this unit that...
I loosened the high pressure lines at the injection pumps. I have fuel there.
Here's the action of the fuel solenoid while cranking:
And here's what the exhaust looks like:
Maybe there is just old fuel still in the lines from when I attempted to get it started 6 years ago and then let it...
Thanks @Guyfang placed and order. That will be a LOT easier to deal with than trying to repair the old ones. I did go ahead and steal the control panel flip down hinge from the parts unit for now.
Got the new well nut on the fitting:
Installed well nut, front section and completed the...
Made some decent progress this evening. First up was the straighten out the 2 small "door sill" panels on the sides. This is what one of them looked like before:
And after:
Not perfection by any means, but they both bolted up just fine after some quick work in the vice and a pein hammer...
Awesome! Thank you both! Ordered spare parts pack per the link above.
I'm starting to get a better appreciation for how to use the parts manual. Thanks for the tutorial Guy!
I'm drawing a blank on locating those bleed screw seals. Part Number 186-6289. Any leads on where I might be able to get some?
I did go ahead and order 2x 2 packs of these:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254595960577?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Each kit includes all...
Made some decent progress tonight.
I stole a couple of these rubber lined holders from the donor 802:
And was then able to properly hand the main harness going across the area that will be covered by the control box soon:
Also got the rear lower frame in and door mounted. All those...
Thanks for those manuals Guy! I had the 3rd one, but not the first 2. I'll print out all 3 and go through all the wiring completed so far and check off each one as I go.
Thanks for getting those holds downs ordered Kurt. Sent you an email just now.
Got TB4 back together again:
Looks a...
Kurt, this is what I need:
2x MEP 80x Fuse Mod kit
3x Fuse for above kit
4x MOV
25x Relay clips
I ordered from you before so you should still have my pertinent info.
Thanks Guy. I was able to adjust my technique to not snap any additional screws. After breaking each screw free and starting to back them out, if I got any significant resistance, I'd go forward again a little bit and then try again. With a lot of patience, I was able to get the rest of them...
Thanks Kurt! So that 12 position terminal block cleaned up pretty nicely. So I'll probably just re-use it.
But the 6-32 1/4" machine screws didn't, so I'll see about ordering a box of those.
I started removing the 8-32 1/4" machine screws from the smaller 14 position terminal block, but...
Ran down to the shop this morning to pick up the 2 air flow baffles, but was only able to find one. As far as I can tell, the left and right side are the same, so I stole one from the parts machine (the one with the busted piston), and grabbed the 2 red wire holders while I was at it:
I...
Today was slow going getting the panels straightened out. I used a vice where I could, a tamper bar where I needed, but mostly a pein hammer and some dollys. It certainly isn't show quality worthy, but compared to how banged up and ripped the panels were before, I think they turned out out...
Fasteners cleaned up nicely:
Got the rotor installed:
Laid the stator flat on the bell housing and knocked in the new bearing with a healthy blow on a piece of 4x4:
It then slid on without much trouble:
After tightening the 4 nuts on the long studs, everything lined up well and it...
I disconnected all 4 leads on both the positive and negative rectifiers and these are the measurements I got:

Since I'm using a DVM (Fluke 17B) I learned previously that I can't use the...
Made some good progress today. Got the valvetrain done and after a while, I was able to rotate the crank 2 full revolutions after the lifters had bleed down.
Next I installed the manifolds and injectors. So I figured out what those copper looking washers were for. I annealinged them first...
I went looked at the 802s that I haven't started working on again and I think I answered at least the question about the head bolt washers.
The unit with the busted piston doesn't have those washers on it currently, which explains why I have extras:
I seem to recall I just pulled off what I...
