I asked the local PG&E guy for a penta-nut socket because they use them on their underground utilities covers and he just gave me one........... You might ask at the local fire station too. Some hydrants used 5 sided wrenches to remove covers.
The only box that "thumps" is the original Prestolite PCB. That thump is the main power contactor pulling in. Everything after the Prestolite box didn't do that. Go online and find yourself an S3 box, one with the additional small connector on the side. They use a temp sensor instead of a...
Here's the schematic for the proportioning valve. Anytime the ball bearing moves forward or backward due to a pressure imbalance in the system it puts a ground on the warning LED on the dash and lights the light. That LED is a dual purpose unit telling you either the E-brake is on or there's...
Front brakes are meant to do about 60% of your braking so if the rears lock up and the fronts don't something's going on. There's a proportioning valve there by the master cylinder that could be locked in one side causing an uneven distribution of braking. Pretty easy to take apart to check...
We're at the 3 week mark for reservations and we wanted to put up a reminder that all sites need reservations submitted on the MVCC registration form. This form was included in your last Newsletter or it can be downloaded from the MVCC website at: www.mvccnews.net. The form makes it much easier...
You quoted me from the G503 reply and I answered this question for you. Yes, the 60 amp output goes thru the PCB on the 5A wire and with the 200A setup it goes directly from the alternator to the starter. Think of how large the connector pins on the PCB connector would need to be to reliably...
6.5na with 200 amp alternator
Power runs directly from the alternator output connection to the starter. Disconnect your batteries and check for continuity on that cable.
You have the 200 amp dual voltage alternator. With some really nasty wiring! Disconnect your batteries and clean up all...
Drill out the rivets and re-rivet the barrel clips lower on the bracket. I mounted drink bottle holders in mine because I need water more than an M4. LOL
One of the problems with voltmeters instead of ammeters in the charging system is that if you have poor connections anywhere in the charging system a voltmeter will display good voltages but you won't have the current flow you need to rejuvenate the batteries. An ammeter on the other hand shows...
As you can see in the diagram below the power runs from the battery to the stud on the battery box wall and from there directly to the bolt on the starter. From there it's a straight shot to the stud on the alternator. Since you haven't got 24 volts at the alternator your problem is somewhere...
A simple check of your wiring would be to test for 24 volts on the large stud on the alternator measured to vehicle ground. You didn't mention which alternator you have but it's always a good idea to remove the negative lead from your batteries before removing or refitting any covers on the...
If you need to know it, it's here!
EDIT, the original link from the OP is no longer valid (stuff changes yes?)

I installed Duracell 24F batteries in my HMMWV because every 6T* I ever installed didn't outlast their warranty period and I can change them out locally instead of having to seek out a specialized battery distributor. The 24Fs fit into the original battery tray and use the original battery hold...
Unless you intend to run the resusitation pack (which is typically removed) the 60 alternator will do just fine. I've run one in my 996 for almost 20 years and have all the radio stuff installed.
What's your ROI on them? How many will you have to sell to break even and start making money? If the numbers work then it's worthwhile but your biggest question will be what's going to sell best? You can get an original slant back kit in that vicinity and Helmut tops are already below that point.
Have you seen the new heat shrink solder sleeves that have a solder ring inside that melts and joins the wires and then the adhesive lined shrink melts down and creates a waterproof seal? I found then on Everybody Bids Against You but they're on Amazon too.
