    Any Advice from you Legends!

Agree and forgot to mention it. Mine sat for 6+ years and was almost full of fuel. No algae and a bit of water. Truck started and ran great on it. Filter and seafoam dealt with water til gone.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’m replacing GP relay tomorrow. Current one is original to truck and haven’t a clue how old it is. That way I know it’s status and timeframe.

    Any Advice from you Legends!

Add a can of seafoam to help with any water in fuel issue. Physically pull on each fuse link. They can look good on the outside but be fried inside. Charge and load test the battery’s. Replace if in dought. Follow Other recommendations mentioned. Hopefully the wiring isn’t too badly hurt. A...

What did you do to your trailer today.

Croft sells a ring adapter. https://www.crofttrailer.com/h3la2-1-2-croft-ring-to-coupler-adapter/ Better than cutting it off.

Other four were in one piece. All tested bad No pieces to be found in cylinders where tips broke. Installed new glow plugs and it fired up in about a second, if that. Truck running like a champ again.

They heat fine and fast. Mine started right up at -6* last winter without block heater plugged in. Dozens of guys here on SS are running 60Gs without issue. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I will add that it was very nice to have the 5 ton. Simply attach slave cable to slave port and not worry about draining battery’s while cranking during troubleshooting process.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Main reason was the wellmans that were in truck when I first got it. 6 were swollen and 2 broke off during removal. Removed injectors and fished out the busted part. Not fun. Wanted something that wouldn’t swell and the 60Gs were the recommended ones to go with here on SS. If this set...

They are self-regulating and will not swell. In my case they just break off.........

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It was the recommended glow plug to install here on SS. No issues until a week ago and now this. The two intact ones tested bad. Hopefully the others are intact. Over 20v were getting to them. All are toast I’m sure. Will inspect more often now. Maybe not replace like mentioned. Had to...

secret kill switch - security - discourage possible theft?

As already mentioned, it’s the thief with the least resistance. Have seen it hundreds of times. NOTHING is guaranteed. They will look for the easy target. Making it more difficult for them does help, but the very determined will usually prevail. It is what it is. Law enforcement does a...

O’reilly Auto is where I bought mine. Military discount, coupon and was out the door for $63 for a set of 8. Didn’t want to wait for Amazon.

New Delphi injectors were installed less than a month ago. I did not remove Glowplugs when I installed them. Ether has not been used. Will be doing Passenger side today. Along with removing debris and installing new glow plugs. No telling how long it’s been like that.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Already have new set of AC60Gs Bought them an hour after seeing the first busted GP. Now to remove the fuel injector and fish out the tips. Had to do that when first got truck. Those were Wellmans that busted. AC60Gs in picture is just over two years old. I haven’t a clue how long it’s...
