Heck of a neat idea!
Especially with smooth ground under you.
That $600 was a good investment in your truck (and your happiness too!). Chances are that you won't have to do anything to that part of the truck again - other than a little grease from time to time.
.
I went today to fill up and the machine turned off at $75 for 13.395 Gallons. Charlotte NC $5.59 for a gallon. When the pump turned off at the gas station, it wouldn't accept another card swipe to pump another $75...

I thought maybe I was a weirdo... I have always used a small metal can to capture the brake fluid when bleeding brakes. Then I would pour it through a paint strainer back into a can marked USED. I am somewhat meticulous on being clean when bleeding brakes - so I know I am not pouring dirt...

Nice! I really like the trucks. There is definitely something to be said for securing a load properly. I am sure there are better or more inclusive guides but the attached PDF is for securing machine shop equipment. There must be one for trailers and trucks...
.
I would agree with you @nextalcupfan , but early on in my green truck career I let things sit around for several months. Then I had to spend weeks getting my little green babies to wake up and drive. I don't have any desire to help fund Go Brandon's crazy ideas - but I crank what I have and...

So - using just plain old common sense and logic @Awesomeness - I need to call BS on that thought. The trucking industry doesn't generally spend money on air dams and wind directors. If they did, they would have "field tests" done and then a group of ten (maybe) trucks outfitted with these...

The tanks look nice and ready for plumbing.
That engine stand is a good plan.
Everything tucked in tight and bolted in place...
If you are going to drive somewhere, a longer piece of steel bolted through your already existing bolt holes will make it more stable. Especially if you have to...
.
Yessir. I believe you are right @patracy .
I have tried.
Really tried hard, but so far I have not managed - with my coding skills - to engage the ball peen hammer device and make it reach out and rap someone between the eyes to get their attention. Maybe the device driver isn't coded...

Some of the 915's were Freightliners.
I have seen a few cabs on the auction block.
Daimler has been outsourcing stuff to Mexico for a while - mostly what they call "straight trucks" (24 foot box etc). The plant up in Cleveland, North Carolina builds those same trucks here in The States...

That starter button fix will work only on a nice spring afternoon.
The time it won't work will be when it is hot and muggy and about a thousand mosquitoes are trying to get up your nose or in your ears. Chances are it will be raining too - and you parked in the dirt - that has turned to...
.
Yessir! It's called a "love tap". If there is a dead spot on the armature inside the starter, it might take two people. One (that you trust with your life) turning the key and you under the truck with about a three pound hammer... One swift "whack" with the hammer on the starter body (the...

How about this @papabear ?
Got another two vehicles added!!
WE all know where the competition thread lives, but I wonder if our newer members know about this monthly competition? Maybe @patracy has some sort of idea on how to promote this event?
.
Did a quick search and found that there is a "straight truck" with a 25ft bed, a 390 inch wheel base, a REAL TRANSMISSION (18 speed), and a Detroit in-line 6 pushing it all down the highway. Has a 28ft Gin Pole setup and nice hydraulic winches too.
ITEM #6097602
LOCATION
Sexsmith, Alberta...

That is one tough looking truck!
The skid plate at the front axle would let it ride right up over the top of whatever was sitting in the middle of the road for sure.
.
Looking good!! Mighty Fine!
I remember seeing all that space back early in your build process (now that you reminded us with pictures).
Heck of a good idea to have that space available for sure!
Even better that clearance under the tank is NOT going to be a problem.
.
Silly question... Have you tried just using the hand jack?
To see what happens and what you can hear?
Much quieter that way than with the air powered jack...
That also eliminates a possible air related problem.
