Keep talking to the guy if your time table changes.
He is going "above and beyond" what is normal - so be sure you stay in contact with him.
It is really great that he is willing to be helpful!

Might be worth a look at the rules. There are some height restrictions on how high off the ground lights are required to be.
On the other hand, at least around here - I see all kinds of placement and the local PD doesn't even seem to enforce red light violations. Still, if you happen to be...

If you want to air up the truck - in search of leaks for example - the drivers front glad hand will "charge" the air system with house air. Regulate your pressure down to below 120# just in case you have your shop compressor set higher than that...
.
It might be some "crud" that made it out of the tank and into the supply lines. It could be gummy from something nasty in the air tanks or from the air dryer. Might be that the more you use it, the better it gets... It might also be good to add a few drops of Marvel Mystery Oil in the line...

That is AMAZING! Looks like a perfect fit like you suggested in an earlier post. The top is fine, so what about under the truck? What do you have for clearances down below? No driveshaft or axle flex problems - Right? I mean with all the measuring and fitting that you have done, the...

I didn't know that there was a lunette ring lock... I use a short heavy piece of chain wrapped several times around the ring and secured with a heavy padlock. It isn't a perfect solution against a cut-off wheel and a battery powered grinder. It does keep the honest people honest though...

For a one mile trip - it should be safe to tow without removing the driveshafts. Will need to either have a truck that can supply air for the brake system - or cage the rear brakes.
@98G might want to comment as well.

I may be waving the white flag unnecessarily - but you mentioned "Push Style Fittings"? That sounds to me like air line fittings. The FL3 should be a rubber hose that is generally "Inverted Flair" where the steel line connects to it. The flexible hose should not be plastic with push...

You may want to consider a cab jack kit. Part #300140
Might get no help at all, but the MANUFACTURER is SPX Fluid Power

You should be Steel from the MC to the front rear axle, up above the gearbox ("Chunk" or "Hogs Head") there should be a "T" that sends more Steel line to the rear rear axle. At the "T" you should have a rubber hose down to a bolt where another "T" sitting on top of the axle feeds Steel to the...

That is neat! A nice way to lift something into the bed without breaking your back - and enough weight capacity to deal with most things you would want to carry in the truck. Definitely a sharp idea!
.
Like a lot of other things here - it takes a little time for just the right person to log on, read a little, discover the question and have a useful answer.
Glad @tennmogger had some useful answers! Not bad all considered... Two days for an answer on a machine that is a tiny fraction or...
Red Barn does a lot of 5-Ton parts for the "Monster Truck" community. There was a recent article about adding multiple Pinion Brakes and using a proportioning valve to control the amount of pressure applied to each caliper.

Proud to see you working as a Shade Tree Mechanic! Matches my workspace - with the only difference that I have grass in my "garage" out here on the east coast. Seems that you have been getting a lot done. Looking Good!!
.
I re-read your post again - and is the powerplant in your truck shot? Dead? Or is this a "I wanna upgrade" thing? Like the guys mentioned earlier, this isn't a hobby for the limited budget. I am just guessing - without pictures - but there should be other things that could be looked at as...

Great way to know what is in the kit and the part number.
I dunno if @chucky has any pole dancers on speed dial or not, but I feel sure he would be happy to set up auditions for willing participants  . Maybe it needs to be a panel of judges? If so, I could offer my services and powers...
