Here's another chart for comparison. https://www.iewc.com/-/media/iewcglobal/files/resource-downloads/welding-cable-ampacities.pdf
Voltage drop and available current verses distance to where you are looking to supply are the allowable factors. The welding process for "welding" allows for a...
Ooops...The cutie bear icon messed up. This TM link give the starter dope. > http://hummer-hmmwv.tpub.com/TM-9-2320-280-20-1/css/TM-9-2320-280-20-1_353.htm
Slave connector not so sure, but if "papakb" jumped a tank... then more juice or honey for most bears.

Here's where that funny fined - thingie located in the battery box, tunnel side, front battery is for. It is a "SHUNT" and is there to do exactly what you want. With a voltmeter you can convert the small voltage drop across this shunt and determine / calculate the current / Amps. The ratio is...
Can't believe you need to add any. (had to say that) To get things squared up and tracking (mall cruiser with long tire wear) usually a fist full are cumming out, unless something is tweeked, bent, busted, worn or weak springs too. Where's the ones you pulled? You planning on full up armored...
Might be overthinking this a little. Fresh springs / matched to your load could help. I don't see a lot of wiggle room in the Hmmwv suspension. Every military rig I have owned never saw the fast lane. All of them road a bit stiff. Responsive and agile the M38A1, M37 road really smooth but...
A little off topic...could be a new one?
I never had run flats until the Hmmwv, three years ago. I'am here to say from lessons learned they have saved my bacon on numerous times, allowing me to limp back to much better place to swap wheels. One time 7 miles back to home. (guess I was lazy...
Something more to read. Can't take credit for this other that click and pasted > https://gear-report.com/humvee-info-first-things-every-hmmwv-or-hummer-owner-needs-to-know <
I believe Ted Gates wrote up a comprehensive check / to do list here on S.S. Search the "sticky" section at the top of...
Many have been down this road more than once. It's part of the learning curve that goes with the hobby. Not looking to be a butt head, But if this is your "first time start" or trying to (it's a crap shoot anyway), your on your way to a degree in Hmmwv School 101. At this point there are few...
Congratulation's on your new baby. With 3000 miles, sounds like you got the manager's demo truck. Ya, just goofing. Like KIDS. no instructions, no operator manual (in the glove box ??) and no test drive. Lot of info here and there. Manuals and TM's... READ, read and reread with lots of...
If you are removing the ball joints do to questionable / failed service and having new ones to replace (good idea), there's a good chance it will be messed up when you do get it out. (not always) Using the techniques stated in previous threads above, with luck it could pop free. When your down...
It's a hobby, coupled with your design for a limited / additional protection I think your on target. Surplus hobby HMMWV's is the canvas to do your thing. Now, if YA had lots of sponsors, BIG daddy bucks to burn, design, cut and weld all night from the frame up.
Definitely adds a level of...
Look like nice work and quick too. Got to be better than just the "C" pillar. Tie it in to the the other pillars for the compete deal. Check out "Bulldogger's soft slant top set up. Might team up for something new to the cause.
Make $$$$ too........
Just saying, CAM
Many pros and cons to bring out 12 Volts from the 24 volt system.
While all of these systems use two 12 Volts batteries in series for the 24 volt needs of the truck (start, run, lights, wipers, horn, most military radios, etc) it's a good idea to keep the batteries matched, balanced, from the...
WHAT! 2x4 into fan to check for WHAT!!! Did I read that right? And what IF it is engaged, lock up, rusted, busted ? USE a 4x4 for a better effect of shards of plastic fan parts and wood splinters.
There's a lot of good info here. This isn't one of them... especially for many that are new...
Lots of great responses. Haven't read this in a while and got to say... Read the book. https://hummerhuren.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/hmmwv_test-diagnostics.pdf
This is the easiest, straight forward, free, how to fix it, with pictures, (that I need) HMMWV manual. Right out of the gate...
To me, it looks like the straps are cooked. Rotten, dried up and not rubber-ie / pliable. No stretch and snap. Don't know if there are look alike parts sold as hmmwv parts.
The darn dawg ate them,
CAM
Found this. > https://dma.wi.gov/DMA/divisions/wem/1033/docs/Goodyear_SafetyMemo.pdf < Old news ? Maybe, but still good advice. When did the Planet ship HMMWV's with new tires? Check your dates / condition and drive / tow accordingly.
Something to think about, CAM
