Welcome! You've come to the right place. Hit up the Auxiliary Equipment threads with a few searches and Q's. I'm sure those guys will help! Guyfang, jamiweb, daybreakAngus. Those guys are the best. And Gimpy too, I'm just not sure if he visits the generator threads.
Oh great moderators and SS forum mechanics... Why does feedback rating show below my avatar sometimes and other times does not? Does it have to do with how recent my iTrader profile had activity? My forum visit regularity? Or I clicked a silly button in my profile when not paying attention?
Dan, I may have missed it in earlier posts. Are you going to have some sort of system for removing the shelter? It would be cool to have a way to lift slightly and drive out from underneath. This would give you your cargo truck back for days when you need to haul.
Welcome from Tennessee! There are many great folks here to help! You will also be encouraged to look up appropriate technical manuals and read, read, read. Most TM's are linked in the first pages when you sign in the forum.
I picked up a NOS slave plug from a member here on SS. I know it's overkill, but plan to pair it with the NOCO Genius G7200 Mike recommends for generator charging duties.
On a side note, I already have the smaller NOCO 12v only model and it is a real quality unit that is easy to use.
Sounds like another successful recovery Wes. It's always good to have spare parts tucked away! Glad to know everything went smoothly after the minor vibration induced repair.
They call me occasionally too. I guess I'm keeping too many on my watch list. I'm really just trying to track sale prices so I can learn about what to look for.
"Built by the military". That's funny GP, a military truck that is built by the military... The military doesn't build anything...
Congrats on the new to you vehicles guys! I don't think flat towing is a good idea. Definitely use a trailer! You will want to get it home in one piece and do PM and lube with all checks before putting into service.
EUC clearance varies and not much is known about why. With so many HMMWV's...
I guess that begs the question for me... Can you effectively switch to super singles on a wrecker? Is one particular tire/wheel super single combo best for the weight range and application?
Edit: found one here. Looks pretty good!
Exactly, well said. It's also nice to occasionally have the validation that the starting bid isn't set too high. I was encouraged to see that one starting at $500 sell for the same final price as others in similar condition.
For GP, it's assurance that the starting price isn't a hindrance to...
Very nice score SouthJL! I followed your transport thread and have subscribed here to learn more as you get it serviced and ready for action.
By the way, it's not weird at all to lay underneath and study the workings. My wife has learned to leave me alone when I get in that zone.
