Sadly, whatever it was took out the fender as well. Before that it was a cherry (straight, rust free) fender. Got trans in today. Cold!

I don't know if they have a lot of value, but they're definitely uncommon, if not rare. A few people (4-5ish) here on the site have posted theirs over the year. Invariably, they are similar to yours: well used. When you say legs, I assume you mean landing gear? I believe the gear is M104...
