So only the master fails? And you're testing it each time to see if it is the failed component?
No leakage otherwise?
I assume the failing aspect is loss of pressure output?
Welcome to the site. Our halftrack ranks are growing!
I know nothing of the halftracks, but I'd be amazed if there wasn't a way to adapt an automatic to them. Simply a case of finding one that will physically fit and adapting it to whatever the engine ends up being (original, Cummins, etc.).
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
The weather was perfect for this, notice Dan in a t-shirt-in February!
While we had the powerpack out, we degreased and pressure washed the engine compartment and under the cab since this would be the best time to do it. The engine he got is spotless and...
How many of ya'll have actually gotten that plug to come out?
All the ones I've tried were so tight that the welded bung with the threads actually started to distort the bottom of the tank from me trying to turn it!
Yupp. Bought a car. I love how buying a car is an all day affair.
I will try and make the next one. It's very close for me, my only issue is that I literally have zero spare time now.
But if there's any way possible to do it, I will.

Guys, I am sorry, I can not make it. Clintogf is having some car problems and asked for my help and I've got to help her out.
I'll miss you guys.

Check pistons for cracks while it's apart.
Now will be the time to drill and tap the exhaust manifold for a pyrometer.
Replace all freeze plugs.
Replace hoses and thermostat if they aren't brand new.

I too am looking for a site that can identify M #/NSN's-without much luck.
Man, that is awesome! Mucho thanks!
Where did you find that? Do you have access to the system or is that buried in a TM somewhere?
I did-see "I never have any luck googling NSN/#'s and getting anything other than govt. contractor sites."
Whenever I try to identify either MS or NSN #'s...
1. If you want a truck to use around the house, they're incredibly cheap.
For instance, what would a good condition, say 100K mile, used Dodge 2500 4wd with a Cummins cost? If all you need is something to go to Home Depot, help friends move, occasionally haul a lawnmower, etc., then a...
