Those are neato-source?
I am adding some stuff to my A2C and I need to decide where to grab the 24V power for them (reverse lights, some flood lights for night ops, etc.).
Thanks for posting this thread, boatie!
A bunch of people have simply replaced the M105 axle with smaller, civilian axles and wheels, in order to reduce their height. Do a search here on SS.
Ultimately, I am with Kenny-I'd keep an eye out for a nice 101 and save your 105 for the deuce you need to eventually buy. :)
Awww shucks.
Thanks guys.
3rdaavbncco's Deuce fired right up-stuck fuel shutoff lever. It was the first thing I looked for (after doing a search here on the site ) and it literally took me about 5 minutes start to finish.
I appreciate the kind comments from all.
I'd blast that. A pressure washer just won't be sufficient.
Also, ignoring the rust, the base has to be prepared in some way in order for paint or primer to stick. The surface has to have some "tooth" for the coating to stick to. Washing it won't prepare the base sufficiently.
That is a really neat truck. You see so few A1's like that. It has all the neat stuff-the early taillights with separate blockouts, the add-on tach, etc.
I would definitely keep that mostly stock. An upgrade to air shift isn't the end of the world (especially if you hide the switch...
Welcome to the site Nutt. A WLA is a rare beast, we'd love to see pictures of it!
Unfortunately, classified ads (Stuff for sale, stuff you want, etc.) needs to go in the classifieds forum, not here.

How long can the DOT air line be expected to last? I'd consider replacing all the copper in my current project (http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?92822-Copper-lines-and-painting&highlight=copper) with the air line, but I wonder how long before it gets brittle...........
Auction posting policy-MUST READ
Guys, we need to tighten up the policies regarding the posting of auction info.
30 seconds of background-for the last few years, we have prohibited the posting of either active, or upcoming auction information for a multitude of reasons. Some of those reasons...
Ok, I have a question and this thread may not be ideal, but I didn't want to start a new one. If I don't get what I need, I may start a thread.
Anyone who has taken one of these apart will know what I mean.
The mounting bolt which is also the ground isn't actually attached to anything...
I like it, really clever. But will it work for all the NATO slave cables? They fit inside that little crevice? I ran out of time today, trying to get 2 trucks ready, so I never had a chance to test it out.
I suspect we have the same kit-I bought 4 of them, one for the dumper, one for the...
I am adding a slave port to my dropside and updating my older truck to the NATO single pin style.
The cabs on all our trucks were designed for the older 2-pin setup and the cab side is embossed for that style.
All the single pin ports I have seen are the smaller style.
Questions:
1. Does a...
I found that with on mine, with the base maybe 1/4" from the tailgate, I could pick up a deuce bed (perpendicular) and it would almost hang without touching the tailgate.
When I picked up a multifuel, if it was turned sideways it was fine, but as it started to rotate, the trans would hit the...
1. You positioned your #7 wrecker hoist in place.
2. Trust me when I say you want that hoist as far back as possible-like where the base is literally touching the tailgate. It looks like it has a lot of reach now, but wait until you try to back up to something and pick it up.
The truck does look kind of iffy-it's the USAF tan repaint on top of the original 383 CARC and of course, no prep work whatsoever, so every time I wash it, more of the tan comes off. One day I'll paint it but for now, the dump truck gets all the attention.
And it just went offroading...
