The World Series 4560 series HD trans cost around 9-11k for a normal rebuild. Shooting from the hip I would guess this trans would be 2-3k more just because it's not the normal HD Allison spec you see in most plow/garbage/etc trucks.
I have customers with 4560 Allisons with 20,000+ hours...
Glad you made it home safely. I thought the M920 would be a back breaker with the 58k Hendrickson RT walking beams but the long wheelbase makes it a much better riding truck than the lighter spring short wheelbase M915 by quite a bit in my opinion. Looking forward to your pictures.
What...
Glad to hear the truck is up and running again! I love reading these 1,000+ journey posts. I was also glad to see somebody bought Chris's truck. Have a great Thanksgiving guys.

Glad you are liking your M916! I'm in the process of video taping our M920 during cold start up (it sounds REAL nice) and will get some in cab shots going through the gears, using jake brake on 6cyl/high setting etc. We removed the muffler and added a 5" straight with a 7" turnout which sounds...
The two 7155's we have (916 and 920) shift good in my opinion. They take getting use to thats for sure. Make sure you let off on the throttle in between shifts and let the transmission go through its brief shift sequence and then resume with the throttle. You should have clean shifts- make...
We have the same trailer and love it. Thats a VERY good price for that trailer and being ex-air force I'm sure it's had an easy life. If you were 200 miles from me I'd buy it to have another. The belly on the M270 trailer is DEEP and looks like something rated for 35T not the heavily derated...
Nice work! I used the towbar to pull around our M820 with our M915a1 this past weekend. The M820 is very close to weight of the M916. The NTC 400 didn't seem to mind the load at all.
Are you going to get the M916 going again? Glad you had a safe trip.

Over the weekend the Big Iron Classic Truck Show was in a neighboring town of Kasson, MN. I heard there were around 400-500 trucks on the ground on display. Lots of classic W900 A models, 12v71's, 3408's, KT Cummins, etc. If you aren't a fan of spark plug engines this is the place to be...
I see they have an International 7400 crew cab truck they are turning into an expedition vehicle. I sure hope the person buying this IHC brings a set of injectors and knows how to troubeshoot multi plex electrical problems along the trail. Those trucks have a hard time running in a clean...
Here are some pics from today
Here are some pictures of the M813a1 and M920 from today. We have a truck show in Kasson, MN this weekend and I drove them over this afternoon. It was my first time taking the M920 out on the road. We removed the muffler and added a 7" turnout on the 920. The...
Nice job! Thanks for not using a muffler! We just completed installing a 7" stack with a muffler delete on our M920. Sounds awesome especially with the high setting on the jake. I could only imagine how loud that NHC 250 was with a jake with no turbo to silence exhaust flow. Thanks for the...
James has all of the nice toys! We got it off the base today. I couldn't get ahold of the GL rep to save my life. Started calling at 7am and left multiple messages. I just rolled the dice and had the wrecker company go on base around 11am. He was going to take the truck with the GL rep or...
We are having our M920 towed off site tomorrow due to only one loadout a month in Topeka. Needless to say it's hard to line up an RGN with timeframes like that.
The towing company is planning on towing the truck back to their lot approx 10-15 miles. I'm new to the M920's. The tow truck...
Personally I'm a big fan of the B series Cummins but I think its neat that Ranchhopper is doing something different. As much as I like Dodge diesels and the B series for smaller GVW applications (I've owned 3 Dodge Cummins and have a B series with P7100 pump waiting for some project) I kind of...
