Open your hood and make sure your emergency fuel shut off is pushed forward/toward the front of the truck. This will be located on top of the injection pump and will have a wire connected to it (or should have!)
The M813's don't have as many problems with fuel line air sucking problems like...
Here's a pic of our M812 we had for a few years. I kick myself for selling that truck. The M812's are the neatest of the 5 tons in my opinion. They just have a bad boy presence to them.
Andy
they are beasts!
I rode in a Marine Corp 7 tonner a few years back on Oshkosh's test track. Don't worry it's not underpowered! If I remember correctly it had a 425hp C12 or C13 Cat and a HD Allison. There is a video on Youtube of OSK 7.5 tonner pulling some gigantic bridge section or...
thanks
Thanks for the info on the towing companies! Jay thanks for the offer! I'll most likely use a towing company in case we run into any glitches.
The GL rep told me they had a jump vehicle when I first talked to him last week and yesteday he said they didn't have one when my first...
We are picking up one M818 tractor out of Richmond, VA next Weds. Does anyone know a good wrecker service in that area? Michael the GL rep (who wasn't that helpful!) said the loading ramp is approx 1 mile from where the truck is located so I just plan on having a wrecker lift one end of the...
Good Looking M813! I really enjoy driving my M813 around. The drive train noise especially when letting off the throttle is pretty normal for the M809 series 5 ton trucks. A rusted muffler is justification for a straight pipe.... I fully intend on removing the muffler off ours this Summer...
my thoughts
I've owned over 35 M35a2's to date and have owned 2 A3's one which was just sold to a fellow SS member. Here's my thoughts-
The A2- Overall a great truck. The multifuel will start better in the cold than the Cat 3116. The A2's have overdrive and will run at 59mph with the pedal...
We heard about this last night on the radio. Approx 1,400 drivers out of jobs for Arrow. They told the drivers to take their trucks to Daimler dealerships and to get a bus back home. Stinks it had to happen this time of the year for the employees. I'm hoping the drivers knew it was coming to...
We have two pairs of 50ft'rs and love them. No doubt about being like a sack of anvils for weight. You can hook to 20ft cables to the below adapter to make a longer cable out of two.

Oddly enough the gauge of wire must vary on...
Both the tachograhs we have had in 5 tons seem to have delayed tach response for the needle so I wasn't overly impressed with them. They do look neat though.
I have an M35a3 with central air inflation that is leaking. (suprise!) What is the recommended way of unhooking this system so the tires do not deflate.
Thanks,
Andy
Sounds just like a scammer MV salesmen out of Murfreesboro, TN that I bought two M818's from that were listed on Ebay. The trucks purchased were not what was received when the semi pulled into our lot delivering the truck. I called him before I took the trucks off the trailer asking him what...
bad boy
Zoinks! Glad to read you have a manual trans in that rig! Can you shoot some pics of the Cummins ISX setup and interior shots?
Whats the tare weight on just the tractor? 35,000#???
Thanks for sharing!
Andy
MV's in MN
We need to get an MV meet together this Summer. If we could find a place to trail ride that we be fantastic.
If you are looking for a truck-
We have quite a few M35's available right now in Owatonna, MN. We have one M35a3 and one M36a3 both showing right around 300 hours of...
