Those darn mis-matched bumper heights.... There ought to be a LAW!.....
Oh no!!! Wait a minute.... If there was a LAW then somebody might notice the mismatch between the bumper or bumperettes on a Deuce of 5-Ton with that leading edge on the Ferrari.
Dang! You'd think that for $300-400...
Of the thousand pounds or so of spare parts we got when we won our Deuce, we are fortunate to have a freshly tested, ready to use radiator. It's got its own cozy spot in our storage area where its not likely to be damaged until and if we ever need it.
Being valued at $800.... We only paid...
Probably not so much that your engine was shipped to Germany FOR the rebuild.
More then likely, the engine (and the truck it came out of pre-rebuild) was ALREADY IN Europe (again, probably Germany) when it was pulled and tagged for rebuild.
Then, it was simply depot rebuilt or contractor rebuilt...
No tug in our motor pool, BUT.....
We DO HAVE a Deuce, a 5-ton Semi-Tractor, a Medium Tow Bar and a HEAVY Tow Bar too.
Thinking outside the box, I'm visualizing BIG TOW recovery IN MY DREAMS.
If it weren't for that TOTAL DEMIL requirement, I'd love to mount the cockpit section as though...
I have TWO of the drop-sides, but no bed, headboard nor tailgate. Not sure if I'll ever sell them or just continue collecting parts for an entire bed.
They make handy ramps for light loads... kinda steep for a 4' high deuce bed but great for a utility trailer, m105 or other lower load height...
Who said "on a government plane???
I WANT a C-130 (or newer/larger) of my own for these recoveries ! ! !
Oh, and a surplussed airfield would be handy to have too.
.
I dream of someday AIRLIFTING as a recovery option... Maybe from the HAWAII auction site where closing prices are notoriously LOW.
It's said in the Bible:
Proverbs 29:18
King James Version (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision (dream), the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Your build is indeed very interesting.
I respectfully suggest that you keep all the details in one place and create a NEW THREAD specifically for this project. It will be better archived on the SS website that way as well.
Thank you.
John
BACKGROUND:
When we first got our Deuce it was a cab and chassis witht he cab being firetruck RED and the frame being black. The bed we bought separately was CARC 3-Color Camo. For a quick fix I simply over-sprayed the red cab with NO surface prep except a quick wash and wipe down - NO Sanding...
Congratz!!!

WHAT ENGINE are we talking about here? Multi-Fuel ala M35A2?
OR, is it an earlier or later model?
Thank you for adding the appropriate specifics and hence GREAT VALUE to this thread.
GOOGLE is our FRIEND.

I recently got one of those H.F. paint guns for CHEAP and plan to...
I've always thought they look like a locomotive sans the tracks.
Seeing yours in "traffic" seems to emphasized that comparison.
She sure looks like a locomotive to me !!!
