Maybe a deuce sized tow dolly. LOL. In my previous deuce years, I created a piggyback device and it worked quite well but required a tractor and loading and unloading points.
I have AAA Premier and they have towed my M1008 with a steel topper before. No issues at all. Remains to be seen if they will touch my ambulance. The high lift is certainly a viable alternative and if your daughter will be deep in the bush, she should have one anyways! They are mega useful but...
The cable hoist deal from a later truck would work fine. They can be had dirt cheap from the pick a part places. Get one from a late GM van that had 8 lug rims. You will need to add a crossmember for it. This is a great location for a spare but they need to come out every so often. They are...
The opposite steering of a deuce is common. For necessary backing I've tied the wheel off with good results. I towed a shop van to the 2008 GA Rally that had T831 Stones on it. This truck refused to cooperate so badly that I had to tie the wheel off just to get it there. Looking back, I'm so...
Well, unless your 77 has an inline 6, it likely has more power than the M1009. The 6.2 has about the same power as the 305 V-8. The duramax would be cool but costly with much fab work. The Duramax is a powerhouse but they have just about engineered them out of owner maintenance status.
You should be fine as long as you are prepared to do the fab work. Alex' thread where he converted his has much more detail besides the pics if you have a chance to read it.
That will be even more fabrication if you plan on putting the 5 tons springs as well. The spring pack is taller by virtue of more leaves but no more arch.
I think this will make matters worse. The divot in the pan is right above where the front axle is located. Spinning it around puts the...
This seems most likely. Cudos to the alert driver who left an exit plan. I'd call this a win.
The thing on the flatrack looks like a hopper to fill sand bags.
I've never noticed a particular problem with and of the M105s I've owned but then again, ride comfort of the trailer was low on the list. What application will the trailer be used for? Removing a leaf and adding shocks would smooth it out. By the by, shocks really aren't shocks. The spring...
