Well, in regards to death wobble, my contact truck suffers. Saturday morning I generated enough time to swap out the spring and nylon bushing on the passenger side with new Spicer stuff. I will do the drivers Thursday. Fixing just the one side took away the wobble.
Not quite sure. It doesn't have an antenna in it but it could have. I opted for one without. It is factory tinted if that's what you mean. They only offered tinted.
I have a Mr Heater Big Buddy and even on the lowest setting, it's too much for my ambulance. Lots of good reviews on all the Buddy heaters. I do use a carbon monoxide alarm. Might also need a small batt powered ceiling fan. I can smoke my kids out of the upper litters if I don't run the fan.
If the cab will not be reused, you can simply cut off the fender bolt if the captured nuts spin. Yeah, can come off in a day. Is there a bed on the truck? If so, you will need to unbolt steering gear so it can rotate up. If the bed is off you can simply slide it back. You can't simply unbolt...
The thing that is most frustrating....or can be, is the captured nuts holding the fenders to the cab. If these come off easily than it's smooth sailing. It might could be done in a day if the new cab is all ready to go but I would alot additional time as things have a way of happening.
84-87 actually but sometimes folks just forget. I have an 84 that FL titled as an 83 because it was a late 83 build. As far as I see it, you have 3-4 options. Sell, scrap, pay someone to restore it or drive the remaining life out of it.
The trip from Ellijay to Helen sounds like a blast. I would like to do it sometime. If all goes well, we will be relocating to Blairsville next summer.
