First make sure your compression tester was completely seated. Looseness will kill the reading.
To confirm "blow-by", squirt higher viscosity oil into the cylinder PRIOR to placing tester, then crank away and look for drop off.
DO NOT PULL HEADS! Instead get a boroscope to look inside through...
So far your questions are so basic as showing you have not read anything on this forum and you're not aware of even basic things like transmission options AND you've asked questions about swapping in 4 speed trannies, which is a Herculean job. You've also said you don't feel comfortable looking...
So if the guy doesn't know his car why would you even consider buying it.
If you don't know cars, and you don't have time or $$$ to repair, I suggest you avoid purchase.
Your questions are so basic that I have a tough time thinking this is the type of vehicle for you.
Best,

I would avoid that sale.
I would avoid all international sales.
You are risking a World of hurt. The Federal Government is a sleeping tiger that should not be woken up.
Drove it to the poling station to vote.
Identified areas of rain leak, will remove hard top and replace seals in spring.
Replaced a few hoses that were leaking. Turns out the power steering pump was not the culprit! Nice cheap fix.
Purchased and dry fitted winter chains to ensure she will get...
Thanks.
I can put human bodies back together, but that freakin' schematic was killin' me
I think I have a lot to use to make a bypass. I ordered a few dead boxes AND I will start trying to use the plugs to make something we can all use.
You're information is awesome.
Thanks
P.S. I will...
Please post a link because looking for manuals is becoming difficult. Maybe they might split and separate HMMWV from other vehicle AND maybe show TM numbers as post titles rather than other information. Also searchability by TM number would be awesome.
So I still cannot find identification of input and output pins on the PCB boxes. It would be nice to be able to identify what the pins do.
There must be military design specs and such so where are they? Manufacturers would not build stuff without military spec sheets.
The schematics are...
So I searched for an hour. Where is TM 9-2320-387-24-2 ?
Any chance the tech manuals can be re-labeled by TM number and not by the post or poster? Some are labeled, some are not labeled that way.

Let me weigh in here.
I spent over a decade in an area that went below -40 C/F [not a mistake, -40C=-40 F] regularly in the Winter. If you're really afraid of the cold, go with a full synthetic AND use a block heater, because most oil gels at -20F IIRC, and most synthetics gel at less than...
With all due respect to your being on this forum longer than me:
Maybe you didn't see I said diluted and less than 3 minutes, or maybe you took chemistry but don't really know how to apply anything you were taught. Your tone in your post implies a bit of disrespect, so let me give you my...
Bought a PCB box on Fleabay to make a simple Integrated Circuit delete unit.
Opened the box up and found no evidence of burnout or water damage... Looks pristine. If it is a good unit, I would hate to destroy it.
Is there any way I can test it besides mounting it to my HMMWV?
What glow plug...
Yes. You're using the correct term. Most people outside of the chemistry world use the term "plumbers acid" and not hydrochloric acid, so I apologize if I confused you.
EDIT - The other term is Muriotic Acid
If you have a weak fuel pump and your fuel is less than half a tank, you might not start.
If there is air in the system you might not start.
Is the fuel gauge working? Do you have at least half a tank?
Just spitballing, 'cause you seem to have many of the bases covered.
???
RWH, don't forget your estimate of half a million vehicles. Unless you have oodles of cash, I think you need to downgrade your offer to $0.01 on the dollar.
I also agree with RWH implied message... Just drive them and enjoy them and stop worrying about "what -if's."
Best,
