    Battery charger for a 923

It is make or break now. If they are frozen , then they are shot, as the ice separates the plates and mangles the inside. The slave port makes a fabulous battery charger connection point, just put a slave end on the battery charger. Then can connect without even opening the door. Yummy.

    Battery charger for a 923

Even NAPA sells a 5A 24V charger. If you want a much faster charger, I'd use a charger for a 24V forklift. They can be had for a very low cost, and most are automatic or on timers.

    summer vs winter gasoline

Thread several months old, but the difference between summer and winter gasoline is the vapor pressures. For what you are doing, you won't notice the difference. Gasoline if vented to the air starts to degrade at about 6 months. At one year, it is borderline yucky. Stale fuel will be...

    8.3 suddenly started knocking

Crack the fuel line open on #1 at the injector or pump, and see what happens. Do you know the condition of the replacement injector you installed?

    939 heaters

Squirrel cage carried over. The NAPA blower motor I installed spins much faster than the one it replaced. The original was seized.

    What do you build?

So, when I saw the thread title, I was like "Cool, I can throw my junk up there.". So, where does a Bobcat bucket place within all of this? The bragging part was I took my gas powered lawn edger, removed the blade, and tightened up a metal cutting disc from Home Depot in it. Next think you...

    welder choice...

I also suggest the Miller 211 MVP, I have one. As others have said, it is 120V and 240V (plug end has adapters), and the auto-set feature allows even a beginner to set the metal thickness, pickup the gun, and weld at least amateur level, day one. It is less than $1000 new, and is a lifetime...

    939 heaters

Because the fan and heater core are outside the cab, it would probably be easier to move the entire thing inside like I mentioned. But then you are on permanent recirc which is not going to do well for defog (defrost maybe OK). When comparing to a gasoline car, whose coolant is 198F, that is...

    939 heaters

I'll be watching this one closely. The heater in my M925A2 also completely licks. It performs exactly same as you just mentioned. I changed my thermostat as my engine temp would drop on the freeway in the winter. Now it holds a solid 180F, even at 65mph and 10F ambient temp, which helped...

    Backhoe recovery with the M936A1

Engine looks to be above water in the first picture, trans is not. Not sure of the intake air routing.

    m923a2 hydraulic pump

As others have mentioned, you could add the crank pulley of an A/C system onto your 8.3. I have the A/C kit and it includes a bolt on crank pulley. If you want I could send you the dimension and you could have a machine shop fab you up just the crank pulley add-on. You have to space out the...

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

Thanks from America! Yes, have insurance. I paid $500 total.

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

Part: $6,000 (carbon fiber Onyx aortic replacement valve), Labor: $244,000 (incl Tues-Sat stay). You'll have to post your pics in the little boys room.

Heater Blower Motor Resistor Repair and Replace

You could just source the low speed side from 12V and eliminate the failure prone resistor. If you are going to reinstall a resistor, I would use one of a higher wattage rating than what was specified. These burn-outs seem to be more prevalent than expected. Be sure the confirm the amp draw...

    Bigger or dual fuel tanks...

Ford used an all-in-one tank selector valve which also switched the sending unit wire accordingly. They used it for carbureted, injected, and diesel engines, all the same valve I believe. It was made by Pollak. I used one to make my own stand alone dual fuel tank for a flatbed tow truck which...

    Bleeding winch hydraulics?

Agree with above, no bleeding required. Just engage it and go, as long as fluid level is up. Leave room for expansion.

Addition of 1 Ton Bed Crane

You can just use the dimensions given in the above post or off their website, as when the crane is removed from the base, it really is just as tall as it was in the base, since it goes down to the bottom of the base when seated.

Addition of 1 Ton Bed Crane

Happy to help. I better understand you air over hydraulic cylinder now. I wanted to be able to power lift items from the ground to the bed, example being a SeaDoo, so that is why I went the winch route. Your cylinder will power lift. Check the range of motion and make sure it will lift what...

Addition of 1 Ton Bed Crane

SD, your concerns about the floor are correct. At first I just used large bolts with large washers to mount the base. Looked ok, but then when tested picking up a 4 cylinder car engine and trans, the floor does flex considerably. So, you should plan to add large angle iron on the underside...

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

Thanks and sorry my response is sooooo delayed. I had a defective heart valve, so they cut my sternum open, stopped my heart, cut the bad valve out, and dropped in a plastic one. Is working so far, and it sounds like I swallowed a $2 watch. The M925A2 is awesome for 6 wheel drive power...
