I disagree that it is normal. The transmission should not be shocking the driveline that hard. Lubricate the modulator cable and make sure its spring return is working correctly. Also lubricate the accelerator...
Cummins typically will not specify cranking compression specs, but they do for leak down I believe. Regardless, you could measure the specs of all 6 cylinders against each other, and see if one is weak. Then you would know what to ask for Christmas. There should be tools, or one could simply...
Any battery insulation device will not do anything against the cold overnight. After about 8 hours of not running, every inch of the vehicle will be at ambient temp, regardless.
How old are the batteries? If they are over 5 years, or ever allowed to sit discharged, then they are likely not up...
Do you mean air compressor or A/C compressor? If A/C compressor, check to see you are in the appropriate operating ranges for refrigerant and oil level.
If air compressor, should pull a new thread for Q&A.
I haven't read the manual, but I think they prefer if you shift it while the truck is in at least slight motion. Try turning the input shaft while moving the linkage. T case shifting is not one of the 900 series strong suits.....
So, when does one change to larger injectors? When turning up a pump further does not yield increased performance results? I have yet to learn the relationship of turning up a pump vs increasing injector size.
Hey nevr, I think you list marine injectors for sale, and I'd be up to a marketing trade. Donate the marine injectors, and I'll install them in my M925A2 and post timed performance run results, back-to-back done on the same section of road. Diesel performance sites shun using marines in...
May be 2 separate things simultaneously. You should change the fuel filters, check/change/clean the air filter, and also change the soft fuel lines on the vehicle. There are enough stories of leaking fuel lines that in my opinion it is not worth diagnosing, just change them because at this...
I have this strange feeling one would find a somewhat direct correlation between cylinder leak-down rate vs cold start-ability in a compression ignition engine.....
I believe low on these blower switches supply 12v to the fan motor. I also believe you have a dedicated 12V system, so if I was you, I would ditch the resistor and source 12V to the low side of the switch and be done with it.
If you want to figure out a correctly sized power resistor, your...
Exactly. Best thing to do would be to check current draw on the motor on high to begin with (regardless of what it is rated for labeled as), and go from there to size the resistor correctly. We have high accuracy clamp on DC ammeters at work as you are aware of :) , bring it up!
From there...
Here is an example. Would likely work best if it was connected to its own 12V battery to absorb and handle loads accordingly. I have never used one of these, and don't know a lot about them, but I would further research it if I was you and go from there. It may or may not put out charging...
What is the continuous and max draw of the trans you intend to use? Suprman recently listed some nice converters in the $250 range, and they seemed like decent quality.
You could always tap 12V off the battery bank, though it is usually a controversial issue. I do it without issue.
