Pressure bleeder with de natured alcohol is a great way to clean them out.
Or, if he bought his BFS from Spruce mountain at $30 per gallon, he either got the yellow or the purple. Fill the pressure bleeder up with a color that does not match what is in the truck now and bleed until the new...
He doesn't live in Texas Kenny, he lives in Austin. Completely different mind set.
DW, Thanks for posting where you are, you have a lot of people with trucks and tow bars all around you. We are just about all going somewhere this weekend for parades too. Then next week has the national MVPA...
I am driving my Scouts in the M35 Gasser Saturday here in Giddings. I think there is a parade in B/CS, pm nofearnohope for confirmation on that one.
I lost track of how many different towns in the Austin area are having events at least one day of the weekend. Many is the best way to put it...
Put a momentary switch on the glow plugs too. That way, you won't be guessing if you blew it up with too much either. Very simple to wire in. Just about any tractor dealer will have them.
I am replacing it. It just isn't here yet. Besides, I just started this thread yesterday.
I agree that replacement is better. However, the yoke/tap has challenged me and I must answer.
Chris, I didn't even think about plasma since I don't have one at home. I will bring it in for the welding...
USAA had trouble with my VIN as well for the M1009. They had to put me on hold, talk to the supervisor and such. Their computer kicks it out as an unknown because of the D in the VIN. She kept asking how big and heavy it was. I tried telling her it is a lot smaller and lighter than the M35A2...
The caliper piston seal can be crudded up and not let the piston move back after you release the pedal. Could be the piston is all corroded as well. You wrote that it has new pads and calipers though. Do the jack it in the air, spin the tire and then hit the brake test. See if you can spin...
Let me start by saying the window goes up and down perfectly and the tail gate opens and shuts. I don't want to screw that up by taking it all apart.
The key for the door and ignition fits in the rear lock, but doesn't turn. I figure it is crudded up inside the lock cylinder. I sprayed some...
I tried the stick a torch in the hole, wait until everything is a cherry red and then hit the O2 method. Several times from both ends. When that didn't work, I got a bigger punch and a bigger hammer thinking the threads would have weakend at least some and let me drive the things out. Maybe I...
The front drive shaft was in the back seat when I picked up the M1009. The caps were gone from the u-joint as well. I figured it had a bad u-joint and whatever agency had it just didn't fix it. I checked out the pinion yoke and it moved and felt fine. Dirt packed into the threads, but that...
The guy that runs the museum is a neat guy. He bought a Coot from Pistolnut a year or so ago.
There is also a M35 for sale on Nichols Saw Mill road about 1/2 mile out of Magnolia and just a little past the school on the left side of the road. Kind of ruff, but runs.
I have the throttle cables. Or at least I think I do. I haven't gone looking yet. I was thinking to mount it in line with the throttle pedal the same way the M715 has its. Doing that, my biggest problem was making a spacer with a 45 degree angle on it. However, Ken suggested the left side...
Post stuff about GL, not a problem. Post all you want about items for sale last week that are closed. Posting about items for sale this week or in the future could be seen as colusion, or in some way conspiring to win at a lower price. Or just plain win at any price. Think government worker...
I have always thought aircraft throttle cables would be great for a truck since you can spin them to get exactly what you want or push the button to make large adjustments. Trying to stay military on this though. I have a spare M35 hand throttle somewhere at the house.
How did the factory...
All of my other MV's have hand throttles and I miss it on the M1009. I know it has the fast idle, but as hot as it is here, it never kicks in. The M715 has a very short cable under the dash that goes to where the throttle cable and the pedal connect. Has anybody tried this on the Chevy CUCV...
