I saw one of these folding steps on Mike's truck at the '07 GA Rally and thought I had to have one. I got sticker shock and decided to wait. My last truck came with one from GL. It was one of the reasons I wanted that truck actually. Now that I have to live with it, I have thought about...
You are correct. As long as you were going forward when you stopped or at least haven't put the truck in reverse without going to first before going forward in whatever gear you choose to start from.
I figured opening that can of worms wasn't needed for this thread.
There is room behind the seats for a battery on each side. I have HMMWV seats in mine and an Optima sits behind it just fine. Even room for the door glass to still fit. I haven't tried putting the top bows and racks in the official stowed postion however.
The front tires shouldn't lock up on their own during heavy braking. Theoretically, all 10 tires should lock up at the same time. Check out your rear brakes and adjust them.
That being taken care of. You really shouldn't have any sprag related issues. Just start movement in each direction...
I have one of each.
4-5 mpg on the Gasser. It will flat out scream down a flat stretch of road however. The engine red line is like 3200 rpm. The governor stops it around there by the way. Anyway, with 11.00 tires on mine the GPs has said 71 mph a few times. The exhaust manifold glows...
My 1952 M35 came with the mirror. Both the GL-742 manual and the TM-8022 show them and talk about them. I have no idea when they stopped being offered.
With the small window hard top, the mirror is pretty useless unless the tail gate is down by the way. The newer hard tops or soft tops have...
There is a little gear box on the t-case where the cable screws in. Each tire size 9.00 and 11.00 had a respective gear box.
I do not know about making the speedo correct with the really big tires though.
One of the perks of getting the correct M35 fuel filters compared to the WIX 3511 and 3512 filters is that supposedly the military ones are cleanable.
I am using a M35 secondary fuel filter set to filter my WMO. I have a little bit of water in one of the drums. I of course didn't know it was...
Dave,
That place is huge. There is camping in the OHV area. No rest rooms, water or electricity though. There are 3 or 4 other camp grounds inside LBL that have all the normal camp ground stuff however. But, they are all 6-15 miles from the OHV. Except for the Fenton site on the Aurora side...
You might also want to pull the vent tube off the valve covers and look at both surfaces. Mine had a small leak there that I just lived with. I finally got around to pulling it apart and found parts of 3 different gaskets stacked on top of each other in no particular pattern. I got it down to...
I got to the meeting early last night just to look around for the same setting. I couldn't find it or the trucks. I am glad to read that there is a reason I couldn't see them.
Yes, I have a multifuel tank on my '52 Gasser. You will need an adaptor to get the fuel line to bolt up. Other than that, everything will be the same for mounting.
I saw the truck from a distance Saturday. He went with the big block and it has been sitting for a while now with his cross country move. The Rockwells look nice under the tarp however.
