The air shift transfer case wasn't original on the '62. It could have it though. Which White motor? Multifuel, tubo are what I am asking about. These trucks were used and parts were swapped alot through out the time they were in service. Several members here have trucks made in the '50's...
The M35 parking brake is on the t-case.
Something else to check is the drum retaining screws/nuts. All 10 should be on each drum and tight. Since the wheel doesn't hold the drum on, you could have a drum several inches off and not know it by just looking at the tires. I didn't write that...
RE: Re: RE: Deuce HEAT
Close the cowl vents, roll up the windows and open the windshields. He told us that at the GA rally last fall. I didn't know what to think, but I tried it. After an hour at speed the floor was barely warm and I was comfortable.
I used it again when Kwai and I brought...
Dave, why are your air tanks mounted outside the frame like that? Does not have a forward mud flap on the drivers side get a bunch of road trash thrown on the cab?
I was at Rapco last week. The $6.00 each spray cans they sell are made on sight using the gallon cans of the same color. I like...
Thanks Chris and RJ. I pulled the top off today and painted the inside of them along with rim #11 and rim rings # 11 and 12 plus a few other odd and ends. Tomorrow I get to mount up tire #11 so I will have an actual spare, piant the outside of the cab rear and start sanding on the cab top...
Is the pedal easy to push? Like power brake in a car easy to push is what I am asking. Mine doesn't pulse and neither does any other M35 I have driven. However, the spring that returns the pedal to full up on mine keeps coming off. When that happens, the pedal feels different when I lightly...
4-1/2 gallons of gillespie 24052 got all but my hard top and bed done. I just bought another 4 gallons last week from Rapco at $25.00 a gallon.
Mine was bare frame at Christmas and every part installed since has been painted inside out, top and bottom. I had to throw the unpainted bed and...
RE: Re: Civilian to military wiring adapter?
Nobody makes one that I am aware of. It is such a simple thing to make though. I have seen it done several different ways.
If you start with a new or good trailer lead that has the Packard fittings (Male metal plug, female boot), just buy some of...
RE: Re: OA331 Leaks, gaskets and parts
None of my local parts stores have anything 24V, so I ordered a coil and gasket from Antelope Valley since I need the stuff this week.
The Gasser air compressor has a horse hair or lambs wool screen at the intake. There is also a spot on the oil bath air cleaner to connect the air compressor intake too. Mine is not yet connected. So, no it is not the oil bath filter leaking. However, my oil bath engine vent on top of the...
Now that I drove the thing at speed for 60 miles or so and then parked it over a clean spot on my floor. I walked out this morning to look at the drip patterns. I am able to see what is leaking and where.
My 25+ year old coil is leaking oil. I need another anyway. Who has them?
My valve...
Now that I am back from a wonderful 2 weeks of driving the M715 around in Colorado. I get to play with the Gasser again. So far, I have only driven it around town and short distances. I needed a road test to a location that could help me if I had troubles. Pistolnut lives 30 miles away and...
You can also adjust the little screw in the back. Speaking of train horns. Colton and I were driving the M35 yesterday and got to the train tracks about the same time as a train. He was blowing his horn and I blew mine back at him. He actually jumped. Then he smiled and waved. Colton...
Looks like a nice haul. You are going to hurt yourself jumping off that wall one of these days. You don't know how much Colton thought your "fort" was so neat and talked about how he could play "Army" on it most of the way home.
Look at the drivers side front tire and the skid mark that ends underneath it. Then follow that back. Say the truck was going away from the camera, in the turn and then skidded around to sit where it is now? If you look between the truck and the camera, you can see several skid marks that...
Use an air impact to remove the pulley nut, a gear puller to pull the pulley (If you need to change pulleys like I did.) and the alternator will bolt right into the brackets. That wire harness from ACE makes it real easy too. I did my Gasser in about an hour.
