There are 6 double ended studs that have rubber in the middle holding the head light panel to the fender. Out of the 24 I had to start with, I have 10 good ones on the truck holding things together right now. The rubber/metal bound goes away and they fall apart. I have meant to try JB Weld or...
A Snap-On Crud Thug will clean a M35 rim inside and out in about 2 hours. This includes the lock ring. If all you want to do is the bead surface, a Crud Thug is kind of pricey. Use a wire wheel on a small grinder or some 50 grit pads on a die grinder. About 20 minutes should get all the bead...
The round one closet to the gauges on the bottom is the choke. The T handle one above that should be the fording valve handle. It has 3 different wires coming off of it. One to the vent on top of the valve cover, one to the air cleaner and one to the engine vent lines down below the carb. Be...
Looks good. Now you will be looking for other stuff to turn green since you have the paint and the knowledge of how to use it now. Might want to warn your wife because lawn furniture really should be green you know.
That is a GMC M211. Completely different animal than the REO M35. Same time frame of production though.
I have a 1952 M35 Gasser and a 1953 M35 Gasser. One is almost done going back together. Unless you are made of money or plan to take years, anything over $1000 is going to be pushing it...
Did you read the winch TM yet? The brake on the pinion is to prevent the winch from moving under load unless you want it to.
My 1952 winch was a mess. The band and drum were basically rusted together. I didn't and haven't found a source for them, so I just left them off and haven't had a bit...
RE: Re: Gasser vs Multi Fuel tanks
I am using a multi tank on my Gasser. The mechanical pump pulls the gas out of the tank past the not used intank pump just fine.
I don't know the answer for sure Mike. I do know the stands that keep the M715 windshield from going flat against the hood are the same as those found on M38A1's. Those are spaced around the wiper motors and are actually there to keep the motor shafts from going through the hood, so I would...
Oh, check the sock on the end of the pickup tube once you get the tank cleaned. It will probably be really plugged up. You can change it out for one off a more modern vehilce, remove it and add a filter to the fuel line on the frame next to the tank or remove it and let crud get into your fuel...
Do what Chris suggested or take it to a radiator shop. Tell them you want it cleaned out and all holes patched.
I had mine done a few years ago by a local machine shop for $55 or so.
The top lever on the 3 lever switch has to be either one or two clicks to the right for the service brake lights to work.
If you did that and still no brakes. You get to start tracing the wiring.
Crawl under the truck and use a 5/8" wrench to remove the 2 bolts on skid plate under the brake...
Mine isn't done yet, but it is Gallespie #24052 USMC semi gloss green paint and the yellow USMC stickers came from Beast here on SS.
I also have my M715 the same color. Sermis here on SS just did his M35 the same color as well. We got those markings from Beast also. Below is a picture of the...
I don't know anything about your truck. But would suggest this:
From the rear of the truck, start tracking the light wiring back to the light switch. If you don't find any problems. I would start with a test light at the back of the switch and see if you have power in the wires you just...
RE: doors
Devilman did the power window install with pictures.
As far as working with the regulator and door latch. Having one of those flexible things with the 4 "grabbers" at the end really helped me pull mine apart.
Also, the window glass probably will not come out the top until you...
I sent ITS a bill of sale for my M35 a few months ago. Less than 2 weeks later, I got an Alabama title in my name for the M35 back. Texas took the Alabama title with no questions.
Is that what you were asking?
Yes to what Rory wrote. You don't put the sticker on the windshield. Just carry it with you.
The thread you were referred to above was written by me in 2007 after I switched my M715 over from regular tags to former MV tags.
Last week, I went to register my M35 with an out of state title, no...
