    M715 Carb

1-1/2 turns is a good place to start the truck up, let it warm up and then start to fine tune from. A 2 barrel carb from a FSJ along with its manifold would be a real good alternative. But, then your air filter won't fit anymore.

    Rear Bumperette Holes

Both of my Gassers have what looks to be a 1/2" drilled hole in the middle of each rear bumperette. All of the other M35's I am around were made 1967-1973 and they have solid non drilled bumperettes. I thought maybe somebody had just done that to mine. Then I got David Doyle's book. I...

Question about Engine Swaps on the M715

McInfantry did a 4BT/NV4500 swap in his and it performed great. He called it the M715A1. He was pretty close in my opinion.

    725 big block dodge swap?

I have a stock engine/transmission here in my class. The front of the stock water pump to the rear of the stock yoke on the back of the transmission is 59 inches. My NV4500/396 is about 60 inches if I remember it right. I have the Mini in the class today and can't measure it.

E85 - What can you run i in. 92 Jeep Wranger?

Your plastic fuel tank might not like it either. Along with any rubber seals/o-rings in the fuel pump and fuel injectors.

    OA331 Gasser Conversion to MF

The issued wire is what you want to end up with. But, in the mean time, you could just take a regular car spark plug wire, cut off both ends. Strip about 1/4" of insulation away from each end until you just have the black core sticking out. Unscrew the #1 spark plug wire on the OA331 from the...

Winch brake grrr.. -DDoyle don't read this :)

RE: Re: RE: Winch brake grrr.. -DDoyle don The PTO shaft drives the worm gear inside the drivers side of the winch housing. The other end of the worm gear from the PTO input is the brake. The brake only stops the PTO shaft/worm gear from turning. When you move the lever on the passenger side...

    Deuce brakes.

RE: duce brakes. The brakes will work with no air in the system. Just like you don't need to have your engine running for vacuum or Hydro-boost assisted brake bleeding. Bleed them like any other normal hydraulic brake system.

    Engine swap fuel efficiency?

Chris, You are the one that took the pictures of the sticker on the fuel filters saying it was no longer a multi-fuel. I never even looked at it. Just checked the oil and drove. Figured it something was wrong, you wouldn't have made it to Georgia.

My Giant 715 got a workout! *vid*

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: My Giant 715 got a workout! TOm, I have told you this before. but, I still think you should write your adventures as children books. A few books of your MV adventures and then another one for safety. Using your mishaps as examples. Stuff like don't weld in the rain...

    Getting ready to paint

I'm not sure a Tom Tom will lead you to his house either. I have been there a few times. Always coming from the same direction. I tried to find his place coming from the other direction in the dark once. Not a good idea.

    Engine swap fuel efficiency?

When Sermis, Kwai and I drove back from the GA rally. We got a consistant 10.0 mpg. That was fill to the top, get in, run 100 miles, switch drivers, run 100 miles, stop eat, switch drivers, run 100 miles, fill full of fuel to the top, switch drivers, run 100 miles, repeat... M35A2C with the...

    Mileage and Deuces

No, regular 4 stroke. The M35 is first and formost a vehicle meant to transport 2.5 tons of load cross country. You need different gearing to do that job correctly than you need to transport a truck down the interstate. Most if not all military vehicles are excellent at doing what they were...

    E-Bay Wiring Harness

Since this thread is alive again. I bought one of the ones KCGonzo sells on E-bay for $75. it is just the front harness, meant for the old non solid state blinker system and a generator. Not a problem for me since I am switching my Gasser over to Packard fittings throughout and have a solid...

    correct manual help needed

The 1965 version of the 209 manuals and the 9-8022 that Kenny talked about don't have much more to say about the radiator R&R. I did find it was easier to remove the fan before I pulled my radiator because the winch was just too close not to reach out and punch a hole in the radiator. The...

M1090 / Deuce cover free to a new home...

If Maddawg backs out, I would like to call seconds. Just take it to Kwai when you go to pick up your tires. My fuel tank and all kind of other parts are scattered around at his place already.
