I just completed installation of the mud flap kit on my 998 with airlift rear bumper. The close out plates are damaged and frankly very flimsy. Price per unit is ~$60-$70 from our normal HMMWV parts suppliers. For what they are, that's ridiculous.

Springs are snow plow ~1700lb/in. They are firm but just fine on road for my usage. Inexpensive is why I’m running them.

That was exactly where I thought it should go. I gather the tolerances on this part are wide indeed. I had to take the die grinder to one bolt hole to give me enough clearance to engage the stud and start the bolt. The bend radius of the tabs is slightly off but they conformed to fit just fine...

I’m using the right stuff. I finished sealing it up yesterday. Hopefully it’s sealed well.
The LT cover was clearly serviced in recent history with a cork gasket and it leaked. The RT cover is sealed with RTV and has no leaks.
I’ll report back after test firing this weekend.
