A turbo-charged gasser deuce (using the orginal engine) would be cool. Especially using a whistler turbo.
Maybe in a rat rod application.
This is a job for someone with more time and money than me.
There will be a heat shield to protect the sight tube (made out of hi temp plastic) and the filters from radient heat from the firebox. The oil will be heated by convection....not direct contact with the fire.
You may not have seen it in the pics but I have a manual temp guage that I will keep...
Here are some pics.......I told you it was butt ugly.
That load of metal is the framing for my new shop..................not to be confused with my ex-wife's 24x72 riding lawn mower storage building.
If you are not going to modify it or drive it daily (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) check JC Taylor out. Welcome to J.C. Taylor
They have some restrictions but there vintage vehicle rates are great.
I have my deuces insured with them.
The original line drawings are prob out there somewhere....that would give you the specs on spacing, demisions, etc.
If you can't find the line drawings you could just use an existing troop seat as a pattern and make your own drawings.

The Gimpster speaks the truth.....I have replaced a couple of bad ones......the usual suspect is the fuse. It requires a slow blow one that ain't cheap.
The second issue is the bottom falling off the foot of the pump...some of the newer ones are rivieted in.....anytime I have to put one back...
There will be an in-line pump that will pull the oil out of the storage tote and push it through the filters. All the hard piping has unions that will allow the filters and pump to be removed for transporting if needed. Eventually it will be set up under a shed to block the wind and rain.
The...
I did the fit up on the piping today.....next step is to teflon tape and tighten everything down.
I hope to be heating oil by this weekend.
Here are a few pics.
Maybe a dumb question but why didn't you take the deuce to the tire place and let them do the swap too.......for 360 bucks I would think installing them would be included.
I vote with mikew.....when I was parting out deuces I couldn't give the engines away....should be plenty of them around unless shipping is a killer.
There are two out back in a trailer that have been roosting there for years.
