    tailgate question

A suburban tailgate flares up on the ends to meet the body, while the Blazer is flat. A civvy Blazer tailgate will work fine (including electric window versions, as you point out), but not a Suburban version. At least, not the Suburban tailgate I bought for this exact purpose some years back...

    Who am I?

Man, you sound a little bitter. Build a better site this week and maybe we'll all join up. Why is it so bad to NOT be an admin or mod? I love being a nothing and laughing at the BS.

    Who am I?

Aw, stay in the shadows a bit longer, it's more fun this way. Some of the most entertaining threads I've read in a while!

    Hand crank on a M101A2

The handle is hung on the leg for transport in the two tabs that stick out using the pin on the chain. The main part of the crank handle is flat stock, so it fits between the tabs.

    M923 Trans prob? Please help

I wish I could help you diagnose it, but I am no Allison expert. This is, however, a perfect example of the risk/reward of buying direct from GL. Honestly, I hope you get somewhere with them, but I would not hold my breath. Unfortunately, sodomy tends to be a favorite pastime of the GL...

    MEP002A starts and dies-Switch?

They have a circuit that is energized to keep the engine running after a few seconds of the starter being engaged. 15 seconds should be more than sufficient. It could be something else, but I would say either your shut-off solenoid is bad/mis-adjusted or you've got no oil pressure. That's the...

    Vision block covers?

Well, like I said, I'll gladly donate them to those active duty guys who could use them, rather than scrap them. Actually, since they're made of so many materials, it wouldn't be worth the fuel money and time for me to scrap them anyway. I'd probably just toss them in the dumpster, but I hate to...

    Vision block covers?

OK, so I got a BUNCH of these in with some stuff I bought a while ago. I could never figure out exactly what they were, although the NSN referenced a Bradley, so that was my only guess. Tonight, I took these pics to post pics here and ask if anyone knew what they were. Then, I saw this...

    M916/M920 and M939 starter interchange?

Does anyone know if the starter from the NHC-250 in the M939 will work on the 400 Cummins in the M916/M920? Given the transmissions are vastly different, I kind of doubt it, but does anyone know for sure? Thanks!

What is the average gl auction price?

Huh? Have you ever met Bruce? Talked to him? He's a great asset on this forum. He has owned more trucks than most regular guys I know in this hobbby. From M274's to M151's to Deuces, M39's, M809's, M939's and the AM General 900's (915, 916, 917, etc...). He has a lot of experience with these...

What is the average gl auction price?

What anyone paid for any truck is virtually meaningless, unless it is in the guy's backyard where he'll bid and in the exact condition that he can deal with. THAT's where he needs to do his homework. I paid $4635.24 for a winch deuce once and $1724.33 another time, but that doesn't mean...

    M1008 spindle remove/replace

Actually, the spindle hangs over the knuckle in one spot, which offers plenty of room to tap with a hammer. Once you get it to move a little, you can work it back and forth to get it off. It shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes.

    Source for M818 data plates?

Anybody know a source for new M818 data weight & dimension plates? I looked at MV Data Plates, Saturn and a couple of the other usual suspects, but could not find anyone with tractor plates. Anybody know who might have them? Thanks!

Cucv up for auction more than one time...

I recently saw an M1028 in PA come up a second time. I have to believe the buyer rejected it when they got there because they didn't look close enough at the pics (it had M1009 axles under it). I fully expect it to make it for a third round when the last buyer realizes it, because it wasn't...
