    M101A1 project for a JKU

Brilliant! Thank you, and great thinking and pics!

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

I did some comparing of safety chains between my trailers tonight. It appears that the exact same safety chains and hooks were used on the 1.5 ton M105 and 3/4 ton Pioneer Tool Trailer and M101A1. The chains are about 24" long (not counting the hook) and the links ~0.4" in diameter. So I...

    I love generators!!!

No, not all problems resolved! I have an MEP-016B with about 700 hours that I need to service (oil, oil filter, fuel, fuel filter, air filter (maybe)). And last time I tested it out, I couldn't figure out why the convenience ports worked and registered correct voltage but my multimeter wasn't...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

Thanks! Also, that is really interesting information there. Here's some more info for you: The road was a dry interstate, about 30 degrees F ambient temperature, I believe they do concrete around here and cut ribs into it. I have excellent tires except all 4 were actually under filled and...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

It took me a bit, but I see what you mean now. I hadn't considered putting the "extension" on the truck's safety chain hooks/loops. No modifying necessary of the trailer's original chains. I like that, thanks! CURT 82932 1/2 In Threaded Link 3300Lb Capacity...

    M101A1 project for a JKU

In your setup, were the stock safety chains long enough to reach the hooks on your Jeep? On my truck, when it is used with this receiver hitch, the stock chains aren't long enough to reach properly. Second question, if you don't mind. Do you have any close-up pictures of the tailgate chain...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

To use this this trailer on vehicles with a receiver hitch (vs a pintle directly mounted, closer, to the vehicle) it will also need longer safety chains. The way I see it, I have basically two options: Cut a link out and add in additional links to lengthen the existing chain Cut off the chain...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

Good point. An easy solution. But I know me, and I'll always want the option to tow it with the deuce... which can be done later.

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

These pins and a non-matching clip came with the trailer, and were buried under snow and ice. I don't know where the clip goes, but if I had to guess, the pins are not original. 2.75" long x 0.50" in diameter, they do appear to fit the front fiberglass rack (where I have the zip-ties and wire as...

    Valence's 1968 M101A1

Valence's 1968 M101A1 Trailer On Saturday, February 25th, 2017 I drove to Nephi, UT and purchased this 1968 M101A1. No manufacturer was listed on the data plates (body or frame). It's very complete with side boards, bows, corners, and split swinging rear gates, and even the original front rack...

    Camo Netting Support Systems

Previously I only knew of two types of poles: Ribbed Aluminum Fiberglass However, recently I've encountered a third type of pole that I can only describe them as "smooth" aluminum poles. Does anyone know the history? I guess I shouldn't be surprised at more or alternate variations. None of...

    Supplemental Electric Air Compressor

A little bit of geeking around with a bench top test of the control circuit. Of course, not shown, to actually power the air compressors will be another line from the pressure switch to the 24v relay control. I also took a video with poor audio! https://youtu.be/alhk0cSzkOA

That was not the original poster reporting success. The original poster, Deputy Tim Clark, hasn't been back since the 3rd post on this thread. Last Activity: 07-31-2014 08:54

It's rare that folks come back and follow up! You could post a Parts Wanted Ad in the Classifieds section for the items that you're looking for.

    Valence's M66 Gun Ring

They are similar, as they use the same 1" wide nylon strap and buckles, but I don't know about the length, I didn't measure them. I got mine from TNJ Murray's, as well as several other needed and awesome parts as linked in this post on page 3:

    Supplemental Electric Air Compressor

I just did a Google search for "24V low voltage cutoff" and there are a lot of different kinds. If I were to add this to my setup (which I don't intend to at this time), I suppose the easiest location would be to insert before the air pressure switch. Here's an example: Low Voltage Battery...

    Supplemental Electric Air Compressor

Most of my reasons were provided earlier, in post #27. And adding electrical items for me is easy. It'll cost as much as I want it to. I like providing detailed information as a reference for myself because I tend to forget, with the hope that maybe it'll be of use to someone else - even if they...

    PEASHOOTER's M109A3 CAMPER Build Thread

Mr. Peashooter, did you finish installing the larger air compressor? Any information on fitment/alignment or anything else you had to do to get it to work would be appreciated.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Or a new gasket on the fuel tank cap to keep the tank from "breathing" - letting moist air in/out - which only helps algae grow. Other air could be getting in/out of the tank from fuel lines that are cracked and need replacing.
