The other trucks front driveshaft/ diff have approx the same amount of movement so the jackshaft is next. Are the snap ring type u joints listed in the quick reference the right ones for the front driveshaft?
There is a device for lubing motorcycle/atv cables with aerosol lube that is similar to that, it works about 50/50 bc of leaks. I have one and will try it on my old cable. There is a cable lube called "dri slide, bike aid" that is excellent for cables, contains moly, VERY thin, has a needle that...
I had wondered about that as well, was going to check my other truck tomorrow, thanks for checking. I'll check jackshaft first then pull front driveshaft and replace front u joint/check the rear.
Will try to check jackshaft today, I've got lots of work to do first. The pinion bearings are perfect, zero movement but there is about 1/2-3/4" of slack if you turn the driveshaft back and forth (rotational), I'm suspecting there is a problem inside the differential
Good to hear!! Well now I've developed a vibration that is on-off-on-off, high speed like driveshaft speed, going to check the bolts. I did find LOTS of rotational slack in the front pinion, zero up and down movement. All ujoints check out except the front one which has a very small amount of slack.
I just re-lined mine a couple of weeks ago with linings and rivets from Eriks, no problem and it works great now. I made my rivet tools out of old punches but you may be able to buy the right one.
Mullins jeep parts has them, doesn't advertise m35 parts I don't think, complete seats, some have water stains or small tears in covers, I got a very reasonable price . I'm not affiliated in any way, just thought I would make members who are close aware of this.
I was forced to reseal the air compressor bc it started pouring out of the front seal. This led to removing the oil filters, which turned into a oil/filter change bc it's making oil so it was overfull and diluted. Now I can't drive it until I re o-ring the HH bc that's a lot of oil/$$. Put on a...
I finally got "more info" to work. I sent them this question already but maybe someone here can help, if I look at auctions for "vehicular drivers doors" or "vehicular passenger doors" they both have the same pics and nsn#'s, is it a GL typo or am I just too new at this and not looking at...
Did you already check and this is where the above info came from? Or did you just post that as e ample? If I click on the nsn or more info it just sends me back to the category page
Thanks for correcting this. I didn't see that section when I looked. Ok I'll see what I can figure out on the doors, I saw the bumpers only had 4 sets of holes instead of 5 and thought they may have been 5 ton bumpers. Do you know if they are the same otherwise?
If I put this in the wrong place feel free to move it or let me know. I see what I believe are deuce doors and bumpers on GL but I'm not sure where to look to confirm with part numbers? If the GL savvy could help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance
