While we are thinking about the nos ip, I just o ringed two hydraulic heads, if that bridge across the fuel cutoff shaft is a little too tight it can make it surge and die. Maybe it's too tight in the new pump?
Yep, you can use a transfer punch to find center on the ones that are below flush, will have to be careful on the other one. Start with a center drill it won't walk around, drill just a little at a time with it checking often at first, if off center you can tilt the drill and move it over as you...
This may seem like a stupid question, but is the fuel fresh? I ask bc I didn't really think diesel could get very bad, much less bad enough for one of these to not run well on it, "they are supposed to run on anything" right? Lol. I recovered two trucks a couple months back from Brazoria Tx...
Roll of blue shop towels and or hand cleaner towels, Air chuck, tire gauge, a couple of 4x4 blocks, a assortment of nuts/bolts/washers, couple of radiator hose size hose clamps, I keep a small , cheap moving blanket from TSC for laying/knealing on bc my knees and back don't take it very well...
Why can't the tm's have titles that actually tell us what is in them? Is it just me that has a extremely hard to finding what I'm after? I have yet to find anything in them that I was looking for. I like my trucks, enjoy working on them but even attempting to find anything in the tm's has so far...
I found the part number here somewhere, they had to order it in. It was a midland kit for the twin cylinder compressor. I saved the number out in the shop, I'm going to see if I can get a double or triple lip crank seal bc it came with a single lip with metal outer.
Front seal on my compressor was leaking, it ran everywhere making it appear to be the base gasket or mounting bracket gasket. Got a seal kit from Napa, replaced gaskets and seal, now it just leaks less
Definitely clean first and find the source, if it is the oil cooler or between the filter base and block these are gaskets that are easily cut out of gasket material , get some cheap hollow gasket punches.
Sounds good, now where do I get the base to go with that filter? Do you just run the primary and the 2 micron? Do you remove the filter base on the drivers side and mount 2 new bases in its place?
