What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I know how much that hood weighs with the Armour grills. With the tools added, I assume you have to be the hulk to raise it :) Looks great!

    AM General parts website

I hope that it also is a win but know other firms like this have been corporate raiders. I saw yesterday that Briggs and Stratton also got acquired by KPS Capital Partners . Time will tell what happens to these 2 firms.

    AM General parts website

I asked them that via email specifically for m939 . The reply is that it is under review and consideration for other platforms. Not sure how the the sale of AMG to a private equity capital group will affect that as some of those type firms are all about ripping companies apart for a quick buck...

What did you do to your trailer today.

The harness is common across many trailer platforms not just m116. It comes with the extra wire I can think to power dome light. In the tm section. I uploaded a document with all the wire numbers as they are a universal numbering system on all military tactical equipment.

This is a great troubleshooting thread. I used this to fix my problem. In my case, I had a bad horn button on the steering wheel.

    Newbie With a 1984 M923 - So many questions...

Try tapping the back of the starter where the brushes are and the solenoid. I suspect your starter is going bad and when ithe windings hits the bad spot is your problem. Starters have a history of this type of failure. 74m35a2 sells a direct drive unit that is smaller, lighter, and cranks...

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

So I spoke to Henkel tech support who is the parent of permatex/loctite. The red is actually what they call burnt orange. It is sold to preauthorized centers in bulk and they apply it. They do not sell the same product in the retail or automotive/hardware markets. Some additional information...

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

Interesting but their fittings come with a "red" teflon/dope already pre applied on new items.

Air brake connections- Teflon paste or Teflon tape?

The red stuff is typically oe applied and used by haldex and bendix. Ndt is spot on. Not only used to seal threads as most pipe threads do that on there own but to prevent galling and seizing by lubricating the threads. I just recently overtightened an oil pressure switch and cracked it flush...

    AM General parts website

I browsed and found the same. Some stuff is incredibly reasonable and in line with "normal" pricing. Others are in the giraffe gonads range of stupid expensive. I welcome them and will check them out when I have needs along with the other vendors who have supported us for a long time.
