    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

In the late 70's I learned to epoxy the inside of the weld. They would always leak, whether my welding or the "pro welder" . And NO they were not DOT certified. MY BAD.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Good enuff.......... rims can be widened ......... the world is full of fake nuts, a few more will not hurt a thing!

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Why not cut the rim off the donor, cut the face of the HMMWV wheel to fit the inside of the donor???? Have it welded professionally (from the looks of your toys this might be right down your alley) Inspect often! Just sayin....

Oil Filter Check Valves Recommended? - 2010 Melton Rebuild 6.5

Wix 51060 and the NAPA Gold 1060 I believe are the same filter (one of each setting on my desk now) each has a drain back valve. It is my understanding the valve is used when the filter is mounted sideways or even slightly downward to prevent oil drain back. HMMWV's are mounted sideways. You...

    Hmmwv fuel system issue

YUP, works. And he will likely have to cut the plug in two and push the remainder into the tank. Once they are in there for a few years they seem to be near permanent.

    Hmmwv fuel system issue

I own a bore scope. If you remove the fuel sender it's not needed. It might work down the filler tube but you have to disassemble part of the filler tube . Gets you further along the path to removing the tank. Diesel fuel and gasoline are two different animals in a fuel tank. STUFF grows in...

    Hmmwv fuel system issue

My opinion is the gasket under the metal plate could not be replaced thru the bed...... just my opinion. If you remove the fuel sender you can get a good look in the tank. At that point I believe you will opt to remove it. If you are in a nice neighborhood with gutters down the street flushing...

    Hmmwv fuel system issue

You can bypass the fuel tank to eliminate it with a piece of 3/8 inch fuel line , one end on the pickup side of the fuel pump and the other in a jug of clean fuel. (You can even drive around with this setup, jug in the pass. floor hose taped to the side of the truck. Don't tell anyone) If you...

    Upper ball joint upgrade?

Did the depot swap out the lower arms??? I swapped out upper and lowers on my 998,. The uppers were probably unnecessary as IMHO the uppers are along for the ride, the lowers look to do the heavy lifting.

OUT AND ABOUT WITH MY HMMWV

Actually they put me on first on the ferry then put a full blown 18 wheeler behind me, I guess they needed a buffer in case the 18 wheeler got loose LOL.......... TIRE CHOCK

RIM CHANGEOUT (Paired 24 Stud) with Run-Flats

My humble opinion, Pick up a new as possible set of MT's or OZ's instal what you have and add a set of centramatics. It will never ride like a pickup.

RIM CHANGEOUT (Paired 24 Stud) with Run-Flats

My suspicions were correct. Thats is not the old style run flat. I just saw one of these recently. Some one more knowledgeable with these please chime in and bring everyone up to speed on these. (Action, I saw these at a shop just east of Nashville, our neck of the woods.)

It was one of those days...

Everyone might want to direct their attention to some trucks "that have previously sold" in Maryland. The VIN's are interesting!
