    coolant drain plug

That heater has to be plumbed into the heater hose. You can run into problems with the circulation being blocked by the engine thermostat in some configurations . Hope this helps.

M1123 Doors & Soft Top Fitment Issues

If your truck did not have a top installed when you got it I believe the A frame may have settled to the rear. I experienced the same problem with one of my trucks. I used some large clamps with the pads reversed to pry the frames apart. It worked but I also had to go back later when I...

    Spring replacement, leveling springs

To add my 2 cents, been there done that. The axel on the floor jack can be chained to the top bolt for the shock to compress the lower control arm upward with the floor jack. I would not suggest this for anyone other than an experienced wrench spinner. Look at your fingernails, NO grease, don't...

    Hmmwv problem starting

Brand new to you??? First attempt at starting it??? Did it come out of Georgia??? Most don't realize that most if not all these trucks will require the fuel and start system to have a complete overhaul and cleaning, including a fuel tank removal. MAC, KASCAR,HPG for parts.Nothing cheap about...

Got up on the wrong side of the country???

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

PS... put your clear line on the output side of the mech. pump and see what you get right out of the pump...... that should answer the pump question once and for all.....

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

You may have the answer in front of you, read between the lines...............When you replaced the suction line between the pump and tank the problem disappeared????????? Between the pump and filter is under pressure, fuel out no air in??????? If the hose between the tank and pump is clear and...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

Pull the vent line (small line on the top of the pump) off the pump then crank it and watch for fuel from the top the pump or out of the vent line if you pulled it at the t on the frame rail. Should not be any fuel! No fuel, eliminates the pump. Cheap and easy, 3/8 inch line from the pump inlet...

What should the oil pressure be on the 6.5L?

The oil is black becauses of soot, common with diesel engines. My two cents is use Shell Rotella 15/40 with the Wix 51060 or NAPA 1060 (same filter) . You should see what the stuff looks like at 20000 or 25000 miles, and the oil analysis says its still good! Your pressure numbers look good. If...

SEC12 on milemarker hydraulic winch plate.

Can not tell from your write up if you have already pulled the a arm bolts, if not once the nuts are loose it helps to spin the bolt back and forth with an impact wrench for a few seconds to loosen it up, they come out much easier. You will need the snap ring pliers to remove one of the rollers...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

Put a fuel line out of the filter into a clear container , submerge the end in the fuel while cranking and see if you are getting bubbles in the fuel, indicates you are sucking air into the line. If not, my guess its pump rebuild time or at least have it on a test stand to eliminate it from the...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

Action covered the ones at the tank. They are a couple inches long in the fuel line. My trucks also have one just before the fuel filter also. Greater authority than me says they can be tossed. Now is a good time to replace all the fuel lines. They are under suction between the tank and the...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

Remove and clean or discard the check valves in the fuel line also.

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

If you have the panel in the floor to get to the fuel sender you might want to have a look in the tank also. ( By the way there is one bolt on the front of the fuel filter to take off, getting it back on is not so easy. I turned mine around and tacked the bolt to the bracket.) Your description...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

I believe you need to 'remove' the filter housing and clean and replace the filter...... remove two hoses, 2 bolts to the fire wall, three bolts on the top, see whats inside. My two cents. When cranking you should get a decent spurt of fuel up from the pump as the engine turns over. Just my two...

Engine started surging coming home and then died.

Do not trust the gauge. Open it up and have a look see. Same for the fuel filter. A small amount of fuel out the hose when cranking does not mean the filter is good. If you have not changed/remover the filter now is the time to do so. Eliminate the choke points one at a time. I think you may be...
