Ran the set for 3 hours today at 2500 watts, I did change to valve lashing to the higher side of spec. White smoke has disappeared now after that. So far I have ran it 5 hours on current oil, 1 hour after the other head stopped working properly, 1 hour the other day and 3 today. Might go another...
I'm not too mad about it, I learned something from it. Before this I never took an engine apart or even had an understanding of what happens in a small diesel.
Looked up NSN: 6680-00-933-3600
Beede is not on cross reference list.

MEP802A-MEP803A-MEP80XA/B Fuel Gauge – Special Scale Meter 6625-01-366-0193 Beede 945331
I am probably going to trim off some of that screw. If I ever get this set to work to spec ill fix fuel level problem...
Look what I found, after removing it and putting the cover back on. Filled it with oil and gave it a few pulls and OIL pressure. I might have to replace the seal if I tore it. Going to order a oil pump O ring and a gasket for the cover, don't think there are supposed to be reused...
They probably had other issues with it, the military will get them another one if it cost so much to fix the broken one. I don't remember the percent. I know this one has a electrical problems with the fuel gauge it has a shorting out point to a terminal screw.
After finding paper towel in crankcase and removing threw fill port.
I filled it up with oil and I still cant get oil to flow from Sensor port, I had to of pulled the rope more than 50 times. No oil still, must be more stuff in there maybe caught up on oil path to pump. So I going to open...
I think I might of found the problem, I was only able to see this after pulling the engine and getting at eye level with fill port. That's a quarter sitting beside it.
I don't think I have any other option then to go into engine. Tried new filter and o-rings no luck removed oil pressure switch, to visually see oil flow. Not even a drop of oil, not sure whats going on in there.
Have you tried to adjust the "VOLTAGE ADJUST" knob counter clockwise? Also Battle short should allow operation under a over volt condition. I would break out a volt meter and measure it that way off of lugs with contractor closed. I also recommend while the unit is running that you ground it...
The switch is good I swapped it with my other 831a and it runs happy with that switch.

When I drained the oil yesterday, it took forever. Maybe it has crap in crank case? I do think at one point someone took the had off due to...
It not due to oil being low before, filled it precisely with 1.2 QT of oil. Placed ohm meter on Oil switch it stayed closed while engine was off and running. It is supposed to open when pressure rises above 15 PSI. Next step I'm going to find a pressure gauge that I can place on the engine. If...
Good news I put it all back together and fired it up, it does slightly smoke whitish. Probably injection timing i did add shims to it, TM says to remove shims if white smoke is present. Ran the unit for one hour at 3000 watt restive load, no other issues were observed. I ran it for only an hour...
Very Nice Guidance, your stator looks brand new compered to the one I pulled. Mine took a lot of force to break free, even with a 1/2 ratchet. I highly recommend grade 8 bolts and washers. Have you reinstalled your rotor yet?
The head nuts that are under valve cover were loss and missing their washers tighten to spec. No odd noise and GOOD compression. So I started it up, low oil pressure light stayed on after two resets. Checked oil level that is good. Went down the troubleshooting list the gen side wire harness is...
Never mind its the valves or a seal making that noise, when I hold the decompression lever the noise is absent. Going to re-torque the head nuts since its at 590hrs and check the valve lashing. I can pull the cord with out too much resistance, I have a leak some where. So it could be the...
