Soooo, that means he had access to a second frame or a second truck. I'm figuring that is part of the reason for the $7k mod price.
How did he lift the front? Were the frames stacked to the front bumper or did he use lifted springs?
Rick
THAT is classic! Oh man, Timmy is gonna be so lonesome while you guys are partying like it's 2009.......
Happy birthday Bob, with all the best to you, your family and friends. I would so like to be there and see you Marylanders in party mode.
Rick
SMJ, welcome! That truck on CL for $2995 looks like a winner. Why not call the guy and go check it out? Even if you don't buy, you will get the deuce experience.
Cordially yours,
The Enabler
Thanks you guys for all your experience and assistance. I sure am glad to be here on SS and the brain trust.
doghead, thanks for the TM, I now have it as a .PDF on my iPod.
M16ty, I'll give you a shout when my truck arrives and I lift that heavy SOB offa the frame and get it apart. Should be...
rockman,
Thanks for the contacts. My browser says Sam's server cannot be located. Have you dealt with him recently?
Is there a "exploded" view of the winch available on line?
Rick
Hey all,
I recently became aquainted with the deuce I won back in March. The truck is pretty solid, however the cabin has about a half dozen trouble areas that are covered with rivited patch plates. Mechanically it performs very well. I recently completed a 1100 mile relocation journey down the...
actionfigurebob, Recovry4x4 and all,
Thanks to you guys for your willingness to assist. Currently the truck is in the Crowley Liner Services yard, awaiting new sale documents from GL and the US Gov with the correct VIN. It was my error to not double check the VIN before ordering the SF-97...
I don't have direct experience, but I do have search abilities: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/27134-contact-maintenance-truck-m1008.html
check post #11 onwards, it seems things are not always copesthetic with the M1031
Rick
emmado and all,
Yesterday I learned slot about the NSN system and how to access the system through the DLIS.
Today I have a different question. I imagine y'all are experienced with the "Haystack" system GL has subscribed to, and makes publically available for gaining deeper info on specific...
here's a improvement opportunity...
Chris and Company,
It is my experience that too few buyers and sellers use the existing classifieds. I placed an ad for this exact same commodity and recieved zero replies. This thread created more replies in a few hours than my ad did in two months.
How...
Wayne, I found the DLIS website and search routine on the Internet. With these tools: the army publications and the DLIS search program, I am gaining confidence in my ability to look up a part from a picture, a description, the NSN, or the manufacturer part number.
Thanks to SS and to you for...
Wayne, thank you for your reply. I have a few questions regarding these two statements.
Why does the army publish the TM with a single part number if say, Studebaker and AM General have their own respective part numbers for the exact same NSN?
What are you using to go from part number to...
Found it, thanks!
I am new to MV's, and don't have the historical or operational experience to understand the format and presentation of the information that is available. I am willing to learn, but could benefit from someone experienced and willing to share some insight.
Why there are part...
It's an M35A2. I will look for 9-2320-361-24P in the resource section, thanks.
Wayne, the "Y" between the above referenced numbers can be read as "and" in this case, making it 2 numbers. Thank you.
Question: Are you able to do a document search on the .pdf files or do you have an electronic...
The reason I ask is that I received a parts request for some brake parts with the following numbers/sequences:
1. 419M2, 913096, FE3527
6. 302430, W4419 Y WC4419
I believe these to be the brake master cylinder and air pack, according to his included descriptions.
If there is another...
