    oscellating multifuel engine

dabtl, How did switching filter systems clean algae and rust out your tank? I'm not being a jackash (right now) but I wonder if you misspoke or there's something for me to learn. Rick

    oscellating multifuel engine

I wonder if the gunk is the remains of an attempted tank seal. A shop near me used to repair rusty and leaking fuel tanks using a black, thick gummy sealant. The stuff worked well but if you left your tank empty for too long, the stuff would dry out and peel. I guess if your tank was sealed...

    m35a2 whistle noise

I had a noise like that once. It was a section of exhaust manifold gasket vibrating like a reed. If you can reproduce the noise while running the engine with the vehicle in the shop, you will be able to listen around the motor and deduce the location. Hope this helps. Rick

    Deuce as a donor?

Even if they are going for $20k I would make me look hard at the affordable 1 tons to see if you can work with one of them. You thinking extra cab or double cab? Rick

    Deuce as a donor?

That's a great project idea. Looking at the pic, I'd consider loosing one of the rear axles. Looks like too much gear for the carry capacity. You could buy a 2wd F-550 and fit the axles with a new suspension made from coil springs and links. Fit the divorced transfer case with new cross...

395s WILL fit on a stock Deuce!!!

    cranetruck, what does the 1100 part of "1100-20" signify? If it's millimeters then: 1100 (100%) divided by 24.5 = 44.90" 14.00 (decimal??) (100%) divided by 24.5 = 57.14" 1600 (70%) divided by 24.5 = 45.71" It appears I don't know what 1100, 14.00 and 1600 mean. Would you please direct me to...

    10 bolt hubs for Deuce

Never buggered a rim that could not be beat back out, so I don't plan to replace any. I think a good rule of thumb for traveling through the "developing" world is: 2 spare tire/wheel assemblies, 2 spare tires, an on-board compressor, tire changing tools, 2 1/2 pound sledge, tubes and vulcanizing...

Kurt, What is the purpose of adding low pressure to the bell housing? Is it sealed well enough to keep an air bubble in there? Rick

    10 bolt hubs for Deuce

My cheapness says the math matters: To change the hub = $475 for the hub + $75 for the wheel = $550 per corner To modify the wheel center = $75 plus material and my labor per corner I don't need to look at or have to twist off 10 lug nuts when 6 will do, nor do I think there's any advantage...

    Deuce NSN clarification, please!

Thanks CARNAC, I haven't trained myself to go to Wikipedia as an information source, but it seems that while many people poke fun at it, there's something to be said about open information systems. In my newbness, GL doesn't bother to separate the NSN numbers into the accepted format, so I...

    So what do you think.

Your work looks real good..... but for the life of me I can't see how the mount works! Please post some pics of your mounting system sans tow hook, please! Thanks! Rick
