XM816 Wrecker - Only Took Ten Years

I had bees in the bellhousing of a WWII TD-18 bulldozer. I too didn't want to kill them. What caused them to pack up and leave was me setting up a water spray on the opening to the colony, which was an inspection cover on the bellhousing. I had to leave it spraying for days. Very nice...

    AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES?

I would stay with 55 lbs unless you have 5 tons in the bed. 70 psi is to minimize sidewall flex at max GVW.

    M887 weight distribution plate

The dash data plate lists the GVW if I remember correctly. But no plates listed all the comprehensive dimensions like on the M38 plate.

The David Doyle article in Military Vehicle Magazine that explains decoding the VIN is copyrighted and not available on the internet.

    M816 Wrecker - General Questions

By the USA number embedded in the VIN, it’s a 1971. AMGeneral was busy building 936s in the 80s.

    Otter Track Strand Repair Kit

I think what you have drawings of are the connector pieces for the strands. EDIT: I have made a terminology error, Otter tracks are continuous band, not sections (strands) like on a 114 (picture) which is what I was thinking. The pieces made by lpcoating are to attach the grousers to the...

    Deuce VIN's..

Underneath the hood will just be maintenance related. You already know what would be painted ON the hood, 4L37769 The bumper sanding has to be done all the way to bare metal most times.

    Air compressor

The twin was used 1950-1985?, then the single came out because the twin was obsolete. They are interchangeable.

    My Sister-in-law Spotted a Tank

See if you can query property tax records to find the owner.

    Deuce VIN's..

Your hood number is correct. Very few deuces were sent by civilians from CONUS to Europe, so there is a hint. Try sanding bumpers to detect painted over unit markings.

    Deuce VIN's..

Your data fits into the database perfectly. Your truck is a 1969 however. Your actual truck does not show up because it was excessed prior to the database query which was done in the 1990s.

Quicker EUC times since I did this…

Can someone fix the thread title. Been trying to figure out what an Engine Control Unit has to do with properties and HMMWVs.

    Deuce VIN's..

Sure, we can try, post both numbers here and I will check for you, I have the database on my laptop, or you can search for the “Cannac VIN thread”.

    Engine removal

I prefer to pull the engine with the transmission attached because I hate having to stab transmissions into clutch assemblies while lying on the floor.

Log of my M1165. Project Joshua.

RWH if I could kindly ask you to share any and all safety information related to MT/Rs. I was under the impression that this sidewall issue was only for a certain year(s) of mfg, not every single one of them.
