    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

Yeah, I don't get that! Trick is to find a donor truck and do the work yourself. All you need is the spiders, drums, hubs and air chambers. Those will only work together and do not interchange with M809-series parts, but are common to the steer axle on all three truck series except for the...

    M809-series (M818) Air Brake Retrofit

I don't about using the original set up in conjunction with full air air brakes. You still have to actuate the master cylinder. I know Memphis Equipment does their conversions using an air chamber connected to a master cylinder to the front juice brakes. Whether it is routed into the air pack...

The beast died after hitting a bump!!

I have two very good used tan plastic battery boxes with 6TL hold-downs (no j-bolts), but the hardware is for side securement (M939-series upgrade box). They can be reconfigured using the hardware from your old boxes. Shipping may be a little high, but send me a PM if you are interested.

The beast died after hitting a bump!!

I use two Interstate group 31's and have had no starting problems. Then again, I don't have cold weather issues in So Cal. I installed an M915 battery box a year ago which has room for four group 31's or 6TL's, if needed. The box is a much better set-up than the OEM. Just an upgrade, with...

M800 series / M900 series drum brakes hydraulic / air brakes ????? Please help..

Exactly! With he weight, I expected I would never be able to sell them. The market would be to narrow and what are the odds someone local to me would need them. I absolutely hate putting stuff out for scrap, but it is hard to hold on to such heavy and bulky items. All I have left, are two front...

M800 series / M900 series drum brakes hydraulic / air brakes ????? Please help..

Man, I had all those parts last year when I converted my M818 to full dual circuit air brakes. I ended up putting them out for the scrapper guys. For you, Brother red...from when I did the upgrade to my truck. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask...

Our trucks look like long lost twins ;)

What is the size and name of the air fittings on our trucks? (I broke one)

Tear everything out and replace it with DOT reinforced nylon and push-to-connect fittings. Much easier to deal with and you'll be glad you did. Just my 2cents ;)[thumbzup]

    Passenger HMMWV springer seat: M818

They might. The original shock measures 9 3/4" extended, 7" compressed (on bushing insert centers) and the bushing inserts are 1 1/4" wide.

    Passenger HMMWV springer seat: M818

No, just a good pair of wire cutters/diagonal pliers and a firm grip. You have to get the cutting surface in far enough to get the leverage. It was fairly simple.

    Passenger HMMWV springer seat: M818

I also replaced the return springs on the both sliding adjusters locks. I found a close match, but you have to cut the closed end loops making them into hooks to attach them. http://www.mcmaster.com/#9044k343/=1423imb

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I replaced the HMMWV seat base on my passenger side with an M939-series springer base. Check it out here... http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?158250-Passenger-HMMWV-springer-seat-M818

    Passenger HMMWV springer seat: M818

After seeing too much of my son getting the dog snot beat out of him while riding down our washboard freeways, I swapped out the HMMWV seat base on the passenger side I installed several years back with an M939 springer base. I picked up a good used base locally that only needed a little...

Incorrect Year on Title ??? California Registration Assistance?

That is a disservice to the seller and buyer as it is inaccurate. They need to do better homework before they falsely advertise  eBay [thumbzup]
