The M1031 has a PTO driven Generator off of the transfer case. If it doesn't have that it is an M1028.

As a note, I have delt with 4 winch trucks and found 3 of them had the cable wound backwards. So if your controls operate backwards it may have the cable reeled backwards.

Replace the engine and trans and regear the diffs. Or just buy a civilian P/U and call it a day.

I have never seen GP change the S/N on the trucks as that is not legal and you only get a Florida title if you request and pay for one.

That would depend on what is on the title/sf97. If those paper(s) have it, it is now part of the S/N, if they don't it isn't part of the S/N. I have seen paper work (title or SF97) be both ways.

File for an SF97 and use the "rework" date. I think that is a feasible option.
