Check RuffStuff Specialties, they are my go to source for tabs and brackets for building just about anything. They likely have better shock mount options for less than your time carefully removing and cleaning up the old ones. Just hack the old ones off, grind the tubes down clean, weld the new...
Depends on the block, what you are doing, and your definition of OK.
Most good blocks have an 1/8” range listed on their capacity label. If your lifting, stay in the capacity and rope size range. Winching, use your safe rigging and operating practices, 1/8” under the low end of the range...
What kind of time, equipment and fabrication skills do you have? Maybe Dave @country has a maxxpro hood laying around. Make your own armored crew cab or check the junkyards for a 4 door IH cabor maybe a combination
Unless you have a fuel pressure gauge mounted in the cab, and verify no low pressure issues when the problem occurs. I would throw a cheap $25 lift pump at it, wouldn’t hurt to have a spare laying around anyhow... I had a similar problem, and it was the lift pump.
Pull the hand throttle all the way out with a little clutch popping action, and I’m sure belt driven would be better for getting your hydraulics to bounce.
Yeh, been over 5 years since I researched jeep lights, and don’t remember anything except high dollar LEDs. Some have DRL and TS options as well
Can you elaborate on this, just a more appealing look for the rock crawler crowd?
If it’s not too late and your apprehensive about strength, you might consider a couple of web stiffeners underneath the channel. Another thought is to make a receiver mount so your winch is not tied up in one location. My winch is only 9,000lb though, so 18,000lb I would probably go with a 2 or...
Good job, and resourcefulness on getting it back together! Another trick that may help in the future, is a couple of 2-3’ pieces of 3/4” black iron pipe. Lean the tire up against the hub, stick the pipes trough the lug holes and onto the studs, lift slightly on the pipes until the wheel slides on.
That would be great, been thinking of doing mine. Toying with the idea of using crankcase pressure, supplemented with air when needed to provide positive pressure while fording.
Flushing the cooling system and adding a filter is well worth while if it hasn’t already been done, but have you verified your temp gauge is not just off 40 degrees? They are common to be inaccurate. Also, if I remember right some of these motors had plastic impellers on the water pumps that...
I registered my party of four last night at 9PM, received my confirmation 2 hrs later. Planing on being there from Wednesday thru Sunday. First time I’ll be there for the weekend in quite some time.
Bring the Deuce, mower, and a tent. Sleep like us lowly peasant’s... oh wait, I think I’m bringing the camper this year, and sleeping up on the hill above the common folk also... or, I have a radiator you could borrow if needed!
I would have guessed 200-300 total normal in the park on our weekend, so good to hear 1000 max. The problem was, the town folk that have been battling the park for forty years, finally had something to jump on the first weekend of lockdown and awesome weather. With their pizz poor...
Welcome aboard, and good job! I’m thinking you had a bad/dirty connection at the starter terminals that you welded back together with your screwdriver.
