Stationary high idle (1800rpm ish) using mine as an air compressor cycles my fan even more than hard pulls in the hills. I usually run 180-200 as well.
Pure speculation but, I doubt it unless you can have some snow tracks made for the back. Virgin snow or thin packed snow maybe, thick light pack from snowmobiles, progress with tire chains probably wouldn’t be pretty. These things are HEAVY with not a lot of ground contact...
220 seems too high for the fan and 200 too high for the thermostat, but the spread seems about right for your gauge being off. I think you can get a cheap gun a harbor freight, shoot your thermostat housing and the pipe around the shutterstat to verify. Hopefully your just your gauge is off, and...
Thanks for the update on Ahab, good to hear he’s well!
Keep us posted on if you notice anything different with the screen removed. I want to start with the small things to try and boost my performance while hopefully lowering my EGT’s, and hope I can get some good data along the way to prove...
How these working out for you? Grendel? Nevrenufhp? Bueller? Anyone?
I want to add a little more power, but l’m already pushing EGT to the limits for my comfort level, completely stock. Rereading some if my favorites and looks like in post #1 Nevrenufhp claims lower EGT with the same or...
They are on a M923. The first trucks in a series do not have an A anything after the model. Some people refer to this as an M923A0, but some people get bent out of shape by this reference.
When when a series gets a major revision/“upgrade” it gets an A1 after the model #. Next revision is an...
I doubt they are worth anything to someone who selling surplus tires, and finding someone who wants to trade back to duals is rare, and wouldn’t likely go for tire with that much wear . There used to be a lot of nearly 100% on wheels that went for about $100 each.
Yes, I believe you are correct but I cant remember who or where the calculations where posted. I also suspect with the bigger bolt circle there is also a lot less leverage on the adapter bolts than the studs and the studs would likely fail even before grade 2 adapter hardware would. The reasons...
Anyone needing hardware check with the gals at Affordable Fastener, they have tons of this big hardware in stock, and just about any length or grade you can imagine. I went about as expensive as you can get with the 3-1/4” grade 8, and grade 8 Nylocs. Note this is for just one axle, and not sure...
98G is very familiar with these trucks as well. Not sure how much your spending on the m923, but If it a substantial amount and your not yet committed you might take a look at the M818 that he has in the classifieds, lots of cool mods already done that will cost you alot more down the road...
Well hopefully someone gets some better pictures than we did.The only picture James took.
I didn’t do much better.I have an awesome “invisible” video of Gimpy flexing his truck while twisting through this long washout... didn’t press the record button hard enough![emoji35]
