Scavenging Fuel - Can a Deuce Do It?

Personally I would stay away from local fuel stations. How many people are going to be there with the exact same idea that we have here. I believe that the best place to look for fuel would be at an airport. Not too many people are going to be out looking for jet fuel to put in their Honda...

    Clutch/tranny issue...

There is an inspection plate on the underside of the bellhousing, You can get to the clutch from there to see if it is worn. On a side note, if you need to pull the mainshaft you DO NOT need to pull the entire transmission.....ask me how I know...... PM me if you need any info on pulling...

    oil cooler drain?

The military does not change oil every "X" number of miles or hours. They pull a sample of oil using the drain that you pictured, and send it off to be analyzed. If the lab determines that the oil needs to be changed then they will send a memo down to the maintenance company to change the oil...

    Headset Cable Extenders

I'm not sure if this is what you need but I have a couple of the old "Whisky" cables that connect to the headsets. I do know that they are double female ends though. PM me if that is what you need.

    deuce mirrors , different types

My deuce has the smaller mirrors. It was my impression that the older, smaller mirrors were the original mirrors put on the trucks around the Vietnam era. But I have been wrong before......

    Transmission oil foamy

Ditto on the above posts......Drive it a little further, and see if that helps. When the oil is cold, the air bubbles have a very hard time coming to the surface. When the oil is warm there is less resistance for the bubbles to go through. NOTE: keep an open ear for strange sounds as there...

    Fuel Leak

Fuel leak!?!?!?!?!? Just the other day I noticed a constant drip coming from the line coming out of the IP to the manifold heater. I found that it is impossible to get a wrench in that tight spot. I had to remove the PTO shaft just to get a wrench in there!!!! Also keep check on all of the...

    IED Contact

That is truly amazing!!!! You sir are an artist, and a **** good one. The only thing I can see wrong is there is no broken glass. A blast like that would have busted the drivers side window and the windshield. Just my 2cents

    Soft top 3 color template?

The cab cover will be vinyl. Call your local upholstery shop and see if they carry Vinyl Dye. That would be the best bet for making the color change permanent. If you dont want to use the dye, then you could try a can of spray paint. No promises if the paint will be permanent or not though...

    New deuce

Check your secondary filters. Make sure they are tight, you may have to replace the gaskets. There is no telling how long those gaskets have been in there, or if the cans holding the secondary filters has vibrated loose. By the way I am just in Lexington, about 45 minutes from Greensboro...

Try Eric from Hotshots transportation Co. He is from NC and is VERY familiar with hauling the deuce. Eric hauled mine and his rates are VERY reasonable. Oh, and he is here on SS.
