Mike is right on point here. I would personally change every filter I could on a new set, and clean out the fuel tank and make sure you are starting fresh. Load it up with good, clean, stabilized (all agents including a solid biocide) and a full can of Seafoam... and get it loaded down to as...
Yes push the button in, then pull the cable out, and release the middle button. This should lock into place. All this is doing is adjusting the gross RPMs up. The turning motion of this cable is what does the fine adjustment to tune the RPMS to match up to your desired hertz reading. If you...
You need to pull that throttle cable out, and reset the hertz as needed. Dont run the machine at sub 1800, its not good for the electronics. You might find the voltage range changes if you are running at proper RPM. Not doing so can damage the VR.
Like jcollings said, no worries. The 803 will make 120 single, 120/240 single, and 120/208 3PH. You will select what you want it to produce, via a large switch on the wall behind the fold down gauge panel. Just make sure you are actually bidding on an 803, and not an 813 ;)
How do you have the machine set, not only at the S8 but also on the faceplate gauges? What hertz are you running at, that you are determining this? Do you have the throttle pulled all the way out, and adjusted correctly?
Whats the exhaust look like? So you havent seen either of these run at full capacity yet then? I think you need to get the 804 loaded down, incrementally, to see if the exhaust color changes, and if you are getting carbon particulate strewn out. You need to see at what point the machine the...
I am over in central MA, but have never tinkered with the bigger machines. The manuals will be invaluable here from the simple troubleshooting aspect. Can you describe what you mean by a 'fuel issue' on the 804?
These appear to fit the bill, as stated above (trying to take the work out of it for those who read this later on). Please feel free to confirm these are what you bought Ray:
1/4NPT x 1/4 JIC (90*) - https://www.discounthydraulichose.com/2501-04-04-14-jic-male-x-14-nptf-male-pipe-90.html...
So FYI on Rock Auto they only ask $5.99 for the cheapest shipping (and a bit of tax for me, being in state).

Same pump is on Rock Auto for $27.79, but with that said... its called out for "large carbeurated Gas Engine" applications. I wonder if its diesel rated?
Here is where I bought new, back when I was supporting an 002 for my personal use: https://www.yachtsupplydepot.com/mechanical-supplies/fuel-pumps/facet-cylindrical-solid-state-electric-fuel-pump-480517e/prod_23449.html. This is the OEM unit, complete with EMI filter. Same price as I paid in 2016.
The shipping IS outrageous on what the part is, but has anyone actually priced out shipping costs on items these days? If there was interest in a group buy, maybe we can drum up something better.
Getting to be that time of year where we all should cross our Ts and dot our Is. Make sure you have a proper fire extinguisher for your genset.
