I am considering getting a box of terminals that will work with the blades on this switch (and anywhere else on that set that might call for this connection). Same set as the preheat is on... noticed one of the leads on the coolant temp swith had pulled out of the crimped fitting. Just want to...
No this kit appears to run on diesel, and as it runs, it preheats the radiator fluid (its plumbed into it), so you can add some warmth to the set. It pulls air from near the radiator. Are we talking about the same thing?
So one of the last 802s I got had one of these puppies installed. Any of you whom were in the service... is this something that could be requested at some point in its operational life, or how did it get in there?

Here is the article, for those who haven't heard: http://www.newequipment.com/plant-operations/kidde-recalls-40-million-faulty-fire-extinguishers-some-used-trucks
Does anyone know what size fire extinguisher should be in these? Probably info I can glean from a TM, but I was just reading an article about defective fire extinguishers on lunch break... and the thought passed my mind.
Depends on your local market. For what they are, I feel $750 is a steal personally (have you priced out NEW HMMV tires? Over $600/ea!). You might want to offer the tires for sale to any local hummer owners too, as that might prove to be as equally lucrative.
All depends what you want to do... some folks use the flap, but put a quick release pin in place while its running so the actual flap is only installed when not running. Best of both worlds. I am sure it depends too on how close to your dwelling you install.
Oh, and if it were me, and the flap was gone... I would just get a black iron coupler, and a short BI rise pipe, and put a tractor flap on it... and never worry about it again.
Yes, always watch wire interference with any other mechanical component. I had an 802A burn down on me one day, because a wire had shorted itself out on the throttle cable. Not a pretty sight... thankful I had properly grounded the set, and that I had a large fire extinguisher near by.
Having gone though this before, they are definitely just items stolen from other sets. Someone could make a fair amount of money partnering up with a sheet metal house to make these. I've got 4-5 vendors I use for sheet metal fab... if I could find a source for the locking handle assemblies, I...
I've seen a bunch of sets out of Lockborne with one door just placed on the tops of the sets. The overall quality coming through GL seems pretty poor lately.
