Need help with F-1 Wiring Diagram

Vacuum the floor out before you get into this one Taylor. Since laying on the pedals is the just about the only way to be almost comfortable while messing with the switch. It is amazing how each little bit of dirt feels like a sharpened arrow head after laying on it for 5 minutes.

    4th Semi-Annual Texas MV Rally

I saw Badger the younger at the Temple air show Yesterday. He says Lincoln has been out of touch for a while now. Anybody know if he is ok?

    alternator confusion

Did the wires perform as they were supposed to with the plug off?

    Replacing my Alt dash gauges?

Yes, in theory. The gauges will tell you if the alternators are charging or not. However, if you remove the idiot lights as wired stock, the gauges will always show you no charging is taking place. The alternator has to be turned on. Since the CUCV trucks have two, both have to be turned...

    Cheap Longer Brake Hoses?

1994 K20 is the model you are looking for I believe. There was a thread active in the last few days about this.

    6.2 no start

You have verified voltage at the pink wire on top of the IP. With the key on, plug and un plug the pink wire. You should hear/feel a thunk/click. That is what turns the fuel in the IP on/off. Fuel to the IP but not the lines pretty much means the solenoid is not functioning or the pump is...

    Broke down.

However, your front battery is what powers the dash lights and such. The back battery might be dying, but your front one sounds like it has some loose or dirty connections. Maybe why your back battery is going away. It has been working too hard to start the truck for a while.

    m1009

Glow plugs, fuel and air. Are you getting blue smoke out the pipes as you crank? That means fuel and air are getting in. Check glow plugs. No smoke out the pipe while cranking could mean all 3. What is your volt meter doing when you turn on the key? Have you read the -20...

    Problem Starting my M1009

Yeah yeah. The bigger the load, the bigger the spark when contact is made. I figured us telling people to take the connections apart, clean them and make sure they are tight keeps falling on deaf ears. So why not pull out another old low tech high entertainment value test?

    Problem Starting my M1009

The best fix is to remove all the wiring connections, clean them and put the back together tight. However, if in a hurry and just wanting to get it started. Turn on the headlights when eveything seems to go dead. (Don't use the ignition because the glow plug system will still be trying to...

    1st Sarge glow plug controller.

I will add an endorsement as well. I have been running one of his cards for about a month. Just working everytime I turn the key on is better than stock for me. His does that. We haven't been below 70° since I put it in, so I can't comment on cold weather starts.

    Middle axle out of alignment

The rear axles will walk several inches side to side all the time while driving. Do a tight full circle to the left, then go to a full circle to the right. You will hear and probable feel the axles flop around when you change direction. As stated above. crawl underneath and feel every dog...

    Source for bulbs?

Just get the bulbs for a 1985 chevy truck or Blazer when you walk in. I recommend Silvania Silverstars for the headlights. I switched the 1009 over and love them. True night and day difference.

Is there a method to ID my brake fluid?

When doing the shake test, let it sit for a while. If you have some murky, dark colored stuff in there now. It might be a good bit of goo. I tested a GL truck last fall by pulling a bunch out of the master, mixing in some BFS, shake and let sit. 30 minutes later and I could see no lines...

    window crank handle

The M35 has a square post for the window crank handle. The CUCV has a round splined post for the handle. The M35 handle is held on with a screw in the middle. The Chevy handle has a spring clip on the shaft behind the splines. I suppose you could make a round peg fit a square hole, but it...

    Quick Release Door Hinge Pins

Bushings and hinge pins make a world of difference. Adding a new stricker post on the door jam that has the plastic cover, or just putting on the plastic cover. Will complete the "like new" door experience. I made a set of roadster doors for my M715 a few years ago. Great for trails and hot...

    6.2 Return Line Size

I have bought several sets from Badger diesel. I even keep a few feet of the stuff in the truck with me at all times. "Just in case." So much better than messing with those stupid clamps.

    24v trailer recepticle problem

That is the problem. Nothing on the CUCV is 24 volts except the starter, glow plug power supply and the slave cable recepticle. Put in LED light buckets so the trailer can be pulled by anything. Or, if this is your only MV. Just change the bulbs out to 12V on the trailer.

    Got One! Questions now

33 x 12.50-16 BFG a/t's fit mine with stock rims, no lift and no rubbing. Others have had slight rubbing at the rear lip of the front fenders at full turn. Kind of depends on your springs and bushings. The noise you speak of. Is it engine at speed, engine at idle, road noise, what?

    Starter Relay Voltages

Sounds like your ground wire isn't doing its job or the relay is bad. There should be very little if any voltage loss across the relay.
